I can more or less understand not putting Juvia in the team since she's only gotten serious once in the whole manga, and unreliability isn't something you'd want in a tournament match. I also understand Jellal couldn't partake in case he was revealed or something like that.

yeah...and somehow, Natsu ends up being the one to take the Big Bad down each arc, even though he's nowhere near the strongest
this isn't about power rankings or we'd have whatshisname, Kana's dad, just rip everything up. Of course Mashima is going to use whichever characters he wants.
Not to mention he's been setting up rivals for each of them since the beginning of the tournament.

Personally i prefer once a month publications, esp for Japanese comics which are usually only written/drawn by one writer, usually reduces the amount of filler panels and awkward timings also allows for bigger chapters which helps a lot in story creation.

i think its more taht Quattro puppys are all wimps, the bachus guy was supposed to be around erzas level but couldnt even beat elfman

Well, Gazil just became my favorite character.
+ Show Spoiler +I'm actually pretty amazed by how weak these guys are. They're most likely on par with pre-timeskip Natsu. Dragon Force was barely strong enough to be Jellal, and now everything before that is being taken care of easly.
