Hey Hey my first post on TeamLiquid and nothing to do with Starcraft

But back to the topic, I've listened to melodic trance/trance/Progressive House for about ~9 years now but kinda lost interest to the new stuff around 2004/2005 when trance and progressive house got more and more cliched and generic. I have always loved the 88-2000 trance and still trying to get hold of all the really old releases

Started listening the new stuff again since there is pretty much of actually decent stuff if you just put away the A State Of Trance / Trance Around The World garbage and dig a little deeper (especially in new Progressive House that I'm starting to like more and more).

Just spent a while browsing through this thread, damn I'm so happy that there are people here that like EDM! been some really good stuff and always happy to see that I'm not alone when all my IRL friends don't listen to my stuff =D
always nice to listen to some different stuff and expand my horizons.

at the german guy: what's wrong with Noisia - Exodus? a full on blast of filling bass and enough complexity to keep me interested. I would like to hear what you think is better.

decaf: YES universal religion is awesome.

someone out there forgot name too lazy to check: I'm surprised Way Out West doesn't get more popular recognition since their music is amazing and not as "repetitive" as conventional trance/house. was just listening to intensify today and damn that is a good solid album.

Bonobo has really impressed me with constant high quality stuff. I was very very reluctant to dive into this album since he has set the bar so high. Am I being a little too fanboyish when I say he has perhaps nudged the bar just a nanometer higher with this album?

I don't know what it is exactly, but something just makes this compilation the one for me when all the previous volumes have been very solid material. Beautiful stuff.

Other stuff I just started listening to is Venetian Snares that I got 3 albums of, then some Enduser which is quite alright, giving Aphex Twin another try but it's always been too glitchy and tweaky for my liking and not enough UMF.

Glad to see this thread is still alive. Keep it going!

Haven't had a chance to go through all the pages yet but i'm hoping someone has already mentioned Love you More by Armin van Buuren. The vocals in this are the best i've ever heard in a trance song... angelic. (some people say it isn't trance but w/e... pretty damn close at worse)
