Appreciated. Insomnium is probably my favourite band. I knew all the bands already, but not necessarily the specific albums.

If somebody's looking for good/great melodeath, here's some list. Won't be putting YT links, but there should be available there or on Spotify/similar places. With few exceptions like Manipulated Slaves. Bolded items are what I super recommend, italic are bands that incorporate melodeath or are close to that style, but are not necessary "clean melodeath".

Format: band - album

Allegaeon - Fragments of Form and Function
Barren Earth - Curse of the Red River
Beyond Creation - Earthborn Evolution
Blind Stare - Symphony of Delusions
Blood Stain Child - Mozaiq
Bloodshot Dawn - Demons
Chastisement - Alleviation of Pain
Dark Flood - Still Liberty
Darkane - Expanding Senses
Daylight Dies - Dismantling Devotion
Dominia - Theophania
Dysnomia -Dysnomia
Enter Chaos - Aura Sense
Frequency - The Flow
GYZE - Black Bride
Hymn Above Traumatic Emotion - Ombra
In Mourning - Shrouded Divine
In Slumber - Scars: Incomplete
Intestine Baalism - Banquet in the Darkness
Kalmah - The Black Waltz
Lost Eden - Cycle Repeats
Manipulated Slaves - Over the Black Ocean
Mors Principium Est - The Unborn
Naildown World Domination
Nightrage - Sweet Vengeance
Order of Ennead - Order of Ennead
Parasite Inc. - Parasite Inc.
Persefone - Shin-Ken
Serpent - Cradle Of Insanity
Shade Empire - Intoxicate O.S.
Shadow - Shadow [Japan]
Silent Difference - Belial [one man project that kicks ass]
Sorrow of Tranquility - Empire From Darkness
The Crown - Deathrace King
The Duskfall - Source
This Ending - Dead Harvest
THOUSAND EYES - BLOODY EMPIRE
Vehemence - God Was Created
Vörnagar - The Bleeding Holocaust

This is by far my favourite Fenriz project, I wish he'd revisit this kind of stuff.

Warning: Opinion Incoming.

Happy 50th Birthday Heavy Metal Genre. Born October 4th , 1968 at the University of Surrey when the New Yardbirds hit the stage. Greatest band of the 20th century; no one has come close in this century.

Nah, it all started with Coven. Yardbirds toured with them in 1967 and were clearly inspired by them.

Also, if you want a group that sound like the good old Opeth, I recommend this: (note: there is only 5 fans of them on Deezer... including me. Give them some love

Pig Destroyer's new album released early September and at first it sorta confirmed to me that they're not going back to being a grindcore band which made me disappointed because I've been waiting for a new 'Prowler in the Yard' and I've yet to find a band that can deliver like that album does. After getting over myself and giving the album a few listens, I think it's one of the best new albums I've heard all year.

Anyone catch the new Disturbed album yet? Loving "Reason to fight" which is actually the softest song I've heard from them in years

Give this song a listen if you guys haven't already. It's a bit Metallica-esque with the ballad style.

Children of Bodom are back with a new single:

I really like this one! Seems like these guys are returning to a more "Hate Crew Deathroll"-like sound. Which is great since I really didn't like the way they changed after Are You Dead Yet?. Never really got into Blooddrunk, Halo of Blood or RR4Ever. I Worship Chaos was pretty good though.

In Flames are also back with a new song:

Still not quite sure what to think of it. Didn't like their latest albums either. In my opinion Sounds of a Playground fading was the only good album after Come Clarity. Everything else sounded too much like Radio-Metal.

Two things I don't like in metal (metallica and ballad style songs), thanks for saving me from checking out that song ^^.

That CoB song made me sooo happy and a little nostalgic.
I don't know what to think about In Flames either, it seems as if they found their sound though.

This is technically not metal, but i couldn't find the Post-hardcore emo screamo alternative rock thread on TL:

There are three version of this song on youtube, one with a video that just has terrible sound quality. One of a more recent album where they re-did it as a bonus track with their new singer (who has much better technique, which kinda defeats the point of the genre) and ... This one, which features original singer Sonny Moore (who some may know as Skrillex). I like all the voicebreaks and strains, but what really gets me going with this song are the drums.

I actually don't listen to a lot of "Metal" these days, really enjoying crust though (which is somewhere between Punk and Metal), though Gallhammer almost passes as Blackmetal. Great Galls imo.

Here some shameless self-promotion, but I'm in a band who recently released a single which we are very proud of and I do think some of you might genuinly like it. Lyrics are in swedish. I guess genre-wise it would be some kind of melodeath/folkish thing.

My fiance surprised me with tickets to see Hypocrisy and Fleshgod Apocalypse tonight. I think the latter's new track, while not pushing any boundaries certainly, really showcases that in a world with an increasing number of symphonic neo-classical bands the best truly tower far above the rest.

I've noticed a number of bands have released new tracks and albums that I totally missed, we should get this thread going again with some newer shit from bands that are far from new.

Take Akercocke, they released their first album in 15 years in 2017 and I didn't notice until late last year. I still listen to tracks from this band almost every day.
