Put Kotlguy or Sheever in there instead and its smooth as butter. Think you're making a mistake in saying "over the top" is "fake" for Day[9]. I think that's who he is, and it's hard to polish that to the point where it works in a role where you're expected to lead a discussion. Jon Gruden (NFL coach and current football commentator) is a similar example of a guy who's all hype, and he's practically a meme when he attempts serious panel stuff outside games but he knows and loves the game. I've said repeatedly that Day[9]'s more of a natural caster and I'd love to see him try that out. He's a decent host, but it's not a natural fit. He's completely different from who he was back in the day. There's a point in time he decided he wanted to be clean cut so he became a test tube personality. Gruden is garbage too, Tobi as well. I don't like that forced ridiculous personality. There's nothing natural about it. As someone who reacts like Day9 does to things I love naturally I completely disagree that these personalities are forced or ridiculous. It actually feels like there's someone geeking out about Dota as hard as I do.

Lack of armor for Alchemist, CK can just cut right through him.

It's either that the contrast between host and analysts makes it look fake or that some people don't believe in true uncynical excitement.
That said, day9 doesn't feel like a good host to me. Hope he skills up in dota under Purge and becomes a commentator, he was real good at that in SC2.

I feel like if Liquid loses this one it will become very hard to get even TOP6. But if they win, they'll win TI

Yeah, I agree with you, imo an event like this can use a bit more of Day9 type of people than the bland pros. But thats just me.
