I think Ehome and EG are the strongest teams right now, i feel pretty sure the winner of that series will just win ti.
You forget Wings.
These are the sort of guys who may just wreck EG in the final with first pick bloodseeker sending PPD into BSOD.
i don't believe in wings after their groups and EG has improved to the point where they're just beyond what they showed in starladder with picking stupid shit and drafts.
i mean personally, i'd like it if eg didn't win but this isn't the same eg that crumbled against FRIENDS.
honestly the EG sandbagging or creating a narrative "chip on their shoulders" theory is really making a lot of sense now.
This is basically the same team as last year with an upgrade at the 4
To be honest, none of same EG players have shown same level of play they had at TI5 until match with Newbee.
Zai is a fucking god, though.
Fear and PPD have though.
sumail's patch heroes aren't the same and universe isn't the "best player in the world anymore"
but they picked up arguably the most talented free agent available and moved Fear to his best role
You guys also need to remember theres a bat and 0 bat counters. Anyone hitting tower can get dragged to T4s. I still think not pushing highground was a solid choice. But they needed to choke them out better. It was nyx/naix finding picks. If its Liquid finding picks Naix will end up below 3-4 liquid heroes.
Pretty sure EG tanked Starladder on purpose. They have been known to skip tournaments before if they weren't worth it and no one of significance was at Starladder unless you counted Na'Vi. But since they hadn't really played many tournaments, they decided to go anyway as a warm up for TI but without revealing their true strengths. Going into TI with a target on your back usually does not bode well for teams. Good long term strategy from EG so that they can peak at TI and surprise everyone.
Guys, Starladder meant 0 for EG, literally nothing, i mean they played AA and IO mid for Sumail... stop taking that joke tourney like something to count to evaluate the team

It doesn't matter, this TI is just so sloppy in general. The games look wild and exciting but don't kid yourself, it's not that the teams are actually playing amazing but it's because teams are fucking up a lot which produces these sorts of games. Every team made some baffling errors. I feel ALMOST sure that EHome is stronger than Wings whereas I'm still not sure if MVP is coin flipping their way to victory.

the meta is such a way now that perfect TI3 style Alliance play is not possible

Liquid ruined it for themselves. Naga was just a finishing blow.
still without naga newbee dont win this game.
It would have been similar with an Alche or Ember in the Naga role.
Not even close, those guys don't have a reset button and a BKB piercing disable.
This reset button was not even used well this game, as was BKB piercing disable.
It did more than concoction or chains would have done by a lot. Liquid heroes died a lot to the late song in the fights, they just decided to keep the song for naix only or once they won the fight was over to kill escaping heroes.

I'm just a scrub and not very good at dota, but I suspect that this answer holds a lot of truth
