valve staff do the setup and get their settings imported for them, and the players have been in the booths for like 10-15 minutes now
it's just a bit ridiculous that they're showing some of these videos again when we've already seen a couple of them, when they're already hours behind schedule

This is why Koreans beat other regions in every video game that they have a lot of teams in. This is with their domestic scene basically folding with KDL being done. If Korean dota had half the support that Korean LoL has they would be much further. Of course. They'd have taken over by now. Chinese LoL teams have already given up and started to buy Korean players for their teams. Korean teams can't financially keep most of their top players because of the huge gap in pay between China and Korea. I know. I follow both scenes, though I am a Dota fan first. The Chinese won't ever be able to do what Koreans do in video games, because there is a fundamental difference in attitude. Of that, I was always sure. It's why, even in years when the Chinese win, I said that they won't take over. They simply lack the culture for it. Which is funny because Korea has assimilated many Chinese culture. Since the founding of Joseon Korean culture has been hugely influenced by Confucianism. I don't think that has anything to do with it. The culture I'm talking about is the attitude of Korean professionals, who do whatever it takes to improve their own game, and spend 14 hours a day, every day, to do it. The Chinese managers in LoL have talked about it and why they need to import Korean players - because Chinese players just lack the same attitude. We see that in Dota too. For example, Newbee not playing Dota for six months, iG not practicing during practice time, etc.
Korea has been on the verge of annihilation through numerous invasions eventually diminishing from Gojoseon (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gojoseon) to the current borders. They realize that they need to work harder, longer, and better to survive.

The cut off has to be somewhere. It really doesn't. You don't need Bo1s at all. Being seeded into the loser's bracket is bad enough. It's already less than TI3 which was less than TI2. Maybe next year there won't be Bo1s but they need one more day. I liked the last TI format, the only problem was the shit schedule. First day of main event we already knew that newbee and EG would be in top 3, thats ridiculous.
It caused so much unjustified hate for Newbee too. It's not their fault they won their games on Day 1 and the challenger they sent on Day 5 was no match.
People also want to see every team on main stage so it's a bit hard.

It's pretty obvious when you look at twitch.
