Absolutely no reason why LGD vs Empire and CDEC vs C9 are the very first two matches, and EG vs coL and Secret vs EHOME are an entire day off.

Wish EG all the best. Hope the boys play well . ..

makes it harder to fit in the all star game cos all days have 4 BO3 and long days are more likely but I'd've liked this more. plus you won't need to split rounds over days e.g. winners round 1 and losers round 4 matches are split over two diff days You can't fit 4 Bo3s in one day on a schedule. We will be having 4 Bo3s on Tuesday & Wednesday - Main Event Day 2, Main Event Day 3.
I hope it works out. I still believe 5 days of that is too hopeful.

and main website just updated upper bracket 1A LGD vs EMPIRE to 2h12m :/

Should still do the entire first round of lower brackets before any upper bracket.
Absolutely no reason why LGD vs Empire and CDEC vs C9 are the very first two matches, and EG vs coL and Secret vs EHOME are an entire day off. I think they prioritized not forcing a losing upper bracket team into also playing the lower bracket that day. If you are in the lower half of the lower bracket you might have a two series day on Friday and the lower bracket team in the grand final is playing their second series that day, but otherwise no one plays twice in the same day with this schedule.

Absolutely no reason why LGD vs Empire and CDEC vs C9 are the very first two matches, and EG vs coL and Secret vs EHOME are an entire day off. I believe the upper bracket is usually played before the lower bracket, so that in the (loser UB) vs (winner LB) match, the team coming from the lower bracket doesnt get an advantage: The team that plays first can watch the other game and therefore directly study their next opponent, whereas the team playing their match later, still has to worry about that match in the first place. Also generally, having more time to prepare is an advantage.
Thus, if you play LB before UB the order, you devalue the upper bracket a little bit. I agree it's not much, though. Also this doesnt explain why Valve has split the UB round 1 ofc.
