I do, it is not that significant due to maelstrom/mjol bug though.

Does anyone know any obvious advantages of having the new option "auto-attack after cast" off?

I can't really think of any but there might be something.

Since the last time I played, it seems like I'm now limited to All Pick or Limited Heroes. Did they put a new restriction in? I liked Random Draft and Single Draft as far as playing new heroes while sticking to the kind I liked (I suck at carries) went, do I need to level up to unlock them again?
It kinda sucks if so...

Also, how does said level up occur? My profile says I've got 536/120 battle points, but I'm somehow still level 1. Don't they work as experience? Do I have to play another game for it to trigger?

Yes, some game modes are only avaible at a certain level. I'm not sure what up with your level, but you may as well play a game and find out.

Yup, finishing games automatically made me level up (once max per game though).

Tinker is the posterchild for the feature, but many casters get a lot out of it.

I haven't been able to watch too many games lately, just the hero picks, so my question is:

why has AA gone up in popularity so much lately? I know it's mostly Empire that picks him but I've seen Power Rangers pick him too. AA is a 'bad' support since his lane presence is shit, but appearently now he's cool again for some reason. How so?

Well his lane presence is pretty weak but there are more to Dota than the laning phase. He is really strong counterpush and global heroes are always scary.

Trying to group up and push vs an AA is really annoying. Most big team fight ults has a very long CD, like black hole / drop it rock / ravage etc. But his ult has a short CD so it's difficult to push as 5man which seem somewhat popular atm.

His lane presence isn't weak by any means either. Cold feet is sure to proc if used as a second layer stun or with a heavy slow, and chilling touch makes it a lot easier to rightclick the enemy down.

I have no idea why empire picks aa considering they picked silencer as a second support. To me Skywrath, sd and cm are still the best supports.

This always drives me sooooo crazy... blink to trees, march, rearm, OH SHIT THEY CAN SEE ME TINKER HIT A CREEP. Especially considering that's why I play with autoattack off in the first place tt

I'm in low MMR, against a team who picked 5 carries Some of them are dual laning. How to make them pay for their insolence? Cos I just lost my last game, even though my support shadow shaman helped gank a few kills early on and we were in the lead early game.

I think we need to group up and push more, but what's the timings for that? The moment I hit level 6, just call people together and grab a tower?

what heroes were you?
if your team is good at teamfights then yeah, just group up and take every tower. if your team is good at ganks, then kill everyone you see every time you can. literally farm off heroes.
if your team has strong late game then you can just outfarm them as well, but this is harder because you wont know how to farm fast.

Finish game asap because even if they can be bad players with bad picks, but carries will outscale other stuff in 99 of 100 cases.
Grouping up is good decision especially if carries on the other side don't have a lot of waveclear like AM, PL or Doom.
Farming against them is kinda 50/50 situation because you need to hit 4-5 items timings faster than they will hit 2-3 and it might not be enough.

Get Roshan always, because aegis/cheese are important.
Try to pressure as much as possible and don't forget - after you took all towers outside of their base, it's not a win, they can just stall and farm under t3s.
So, continue pressure.
Best regards.

Thanks for the answers so far guys! Any advice for a low MMR mid gank? Theorycrafting it in my head, after a few failed attempts, these are the lessons I learnt:

1. If approach from the river, wait til the enemy hero is past the river on our side.
2. If approaching from the enemy high ramp, wait til friendly creeps are at the tower or else tank lots and lots of damage
3. Don't try it if mid hero has no slow or stun?

stuns, nukes, heroes with pushing power. if you all go necro there's nothing that 5 carries can do to stop the 20min push

it all depends on what heroes you have. if you have multiple stuns, then make sure to chain stun the enemy and he will most certainly die in the early stages. if you have 1 stun + other nukes, you have to make sure you hit and move so that you can chase him back to his tower and kill him. keep in mind that slows are as good as stuns in the early stages of the game, if not better. open wounds, gale, grave chill, nova etc are just as good as most normal stuns in terms of early gank effectiveness. gale in particular is extremely good, because the slow is huge and it lasts like 7 seconds
also, a tip for when approaching from the enemys ramp as a support. dont throw your stun and then stand there and right click in tower range. throw your stun then immediately move out of tower range before hitting the enemy.
