If you are playing DotA 1, then typically MKB/Crit are the items of choice. Does MKB and crit interact different in dota1 than dota2 with his orb or something? No they are just the highest pure +dmg items essentially (outside of superbasher and rapier). The fact that the minibash or crit only happen on the first hit is unfortunate but they are still excellent items overall for DPS, especially since attack speed doesn't scale so well on weaver due to geminate working worse with attackspeed than with on-hit procs. I wonder if superbasher wouldn't be legit on weaver in dota 1 o.o Why is this different from Dota1 -> dota2 ? O.o i'm confused.

It's not that MKB/Crit function differently, it's that Deso does not function at ALL because Geminate blocks other orbs on EVERY attack, not just the ones where it procs.

+ Linken in dota 1 never blocks the spell you most want to evade

What items should I get on a pub Enigma, and how often should I be ganking lane?
|
On August 23 2013 02:33 Najda wrote: What items should I get on a pub Enigma, and how often should I be ganking lane? blink mek bkb in whatever order the game requires, and you should be ganking at any opportunity where you think you can make something happen, sometimes that means level 2 or 3 and sometimes that means you have to wait until you have your ult.
Enigma has fantastic damage output with your eidolons combined with your stun from even the very early levels, so if you can gank a lane at level two you should absolutely go for it.
edit- soul ring is pretty damn good on enigma in the early game where a single conversion takes a massive portion of your mana.

What wins, Abbadon Ulti or AA ulti?
I'm inclined to believe AA ult correct?

What do you mean by "wins"? AA ult will prevent Abaddon from gaining HP via Borrowed Time. However, the triggered heal can still cause Abaddon to stay at his current HP (triggered heals are applied the frame in which damage is taken, while AA ult checks every 0.1s to prevent HP from going above what it was 0.1s ago).
Consequently, Abaddon will not heal during the time where Borrowed Time and Ice Blast are on him, but he will also not lose HP either, and will only die if he happens to be within AA ult's shatter threshold.

So its a tie unless the damage instance that triggers Borrowed time puts abbadon below the shatter threshold as well. Fascinating. Is that how it works in Dota 2 as well? (I was under the impression triggered heals functioned differently in dota 2).
I would have guessed one of them would have completely superceded the other.

followup question to that. If his health is above Ice Blast threshold with Borrowed time, and you deal enough damage (say with lina ulti or something) that he should have been below it, will he still heal up or die?

The shatter trigger checks at the same 0.1s intervals as the HP freeze trigger, while, again, the triggered heal applies on the same frame that the damage occurs. This means that he's been "healed" before the shatter trigger ever gets to check.

To further explain this, basically this is what happens as an example:
Abbadon gets hit with Level 1 Ice Blast and falls to 380HP (Out of total 1000). Abbadon's HP is under 400, Borrowed Time activates. Ice Blast damage ticks for 12.5 damage, Borrowed Time instead heals for 12.5 damage to 392.5. Ice Blast checks HP, 0.1s ago Abbadon's HP was 380, it is currently 392.5. Ice Blast resets to 380. Abbadon gets hit with Level 1 Laguna Blade for 337.5 damage, Borrowed Time instead heals for 337.5 damage to 717.5HP. Ice Blast checks HP, 0.1s ago Abbadon's HP was 380, it is currently 717.5. Ice Blast resets HP to 380.
Edit: I screwed up. Fixed it now.

Isn't it still a little screwy (though fine for the example)? Isn't it essentially that Borrowed Time will trigger the heal during when you take the damage (both potentially before and after it) and will cover 2x the amount of damage taken (so 25 when Ice Blast Ticks) so that the net result is that by time you've taken the damage you've healed it up.
The distinction being that attacks for more life than your max life will still kill you (hence Culling Blade killing through Borrowed Time though Culling's killing blow also dispells debuffs I think so in DotA2 I don't know which is responsible for the death).

What happens when you blink over / across Spirit Breaker right before he hits you with charge? (right in the direction where he is coming from and behind him)
Does he still hit you or will he make a u-turn and continue the charge?

I imagine he'll u-turn. I've done it a few times with Prophet's teleport.

I've heard that the Dolfrat and Roshinante courier causes characters to say the "shitty wizard" line when delivering items.
Is this true? I'd totally buy it if that's the case.

How do the Chinese play offlane TC in a 1v3 situation? Are there any replays/vods I can study, or is it just out-cs and out-harass with Ancestral Spirit and bottlecrow?

How will eldar titan affect captains? Everyone says he'll have a huge impact in the metagame but never really understood why

Think of him like an evil mix of KotL and Tide who can offlane reliably. Oh and he scales reasonably well with farm!
The big impact he'll have is going to come down to him being a hero that actually works offlane, the pool of reliable offlaners is still pretty small.

If you don't mind dota 1 resources, you might like to check out the SMM 2012 games. Those played on 6.76c but I do recall Tauren Chieftain got picked a lot for offlane in that tournament.
