Got a small noobquestion about builds for phantom lancer. I like the phantomlancer because all but 1 of his abilities are passive, so, a nubhero if u can keep urself alive until ur strong enough ofcourse.

My question :

If an illusion is created, what is copied? So, stats + autochance from weaponsskills also? Ive read somewhere that diffusalblade rox with this character becuz the difussalskill is copied to illusions also. This means the illusions do extra damage and lower the opponents mana. It basiccally criples heros to the bone. Pretty potent. So, would a maelstrom also work with illussions and if not, why not? What do illussions copy and what not?

Thx peepz

http://wiki.teamliquid.net/dota2/Illusions

Ok, so basically it duplicates difussalblade + attack and movementspeed decrease/increase threw items and spells + stats

This leaves a question about diffusalblade then : How many blades is most potent? I guess 2 Difussal blades would do quite well or is that overdoing it?

Thx in advance!

Eventually you will want to upgrade to a Diffusal Blade II (you do this by buying another recipe), but you can't upgrade it further and you can't stack multiple Diffusals.

Like the poster above said, they don't stack. Don't worry about conserving the charges too much. Use then to purge off dust from yourself or chasin down those solo kills. I usually wait until charges are gone before upgrading the diffusal.

Though PL is a good hero to play a fast level 2 Diffu. I wouldn't wait too long to upgrade, since it upgrades your illusions like crazy.

Farm.

For flash farming a wave:
Frostbiting a ranged minion and hit it once will kill it. Hit down a melee creep so that it is low at the same time that the creep being targeted by your wave is low, then nova to get a total of 3 guaranteed CS per wave. You can usually last hit the other creeps as well, but her auto attack animation and base damage are just really terrible.

The other thing is that usually other heroes can do more with the money from the lane anyway. If that is the case, and you are expected to go full ward-bitch, then you just wont have much money and will have to rely on positioning to not die. You can slowly save up for big items by ganking often and making sure you don't spend any of your reliable gold until you have enough saved for that item.

Additionally, you can pick up gold from the jungle by stacking camps then kiting them and nova'ing them down. If you do this, try to stack both the medium camp and large camp simultaneously by nova'ing the medium camp and hitting hte large camp. Leave the large camp stack for your carry to clear, and go ahead and take the medium camp after it's low enough from the nova's.
Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

Frostbiting a ranged minion and hit it once will kill it.

Frostbite has 10 second duration on creeps, meaning it does 770 damage to creeps. You shouldn't need to use it to use this on ranged creeps. It's especially good for farming neutral camps because it lets you kill Centaurs/Ursas/etc. extremely quickly for a support.

Critical Strike seem to be pretty bugged in Dota 2. If you have 6 Daedaluses or 6 Crystalyses you have a 100% chance to land a critical strike but if you have a mix of Daedaluses and Crystalyses there's a significant chance that you won't crit. Could stacking crits of the same kind be legit on Kunkka who is so reliant on hitting a big cleave but doesn't really care much about attack speed?

It actually doesn't give you 100% crit, the DotA 2 Mythbusters analysis isn't really detailed enough. They got chain crits with 100% crit and reasonable approximate numbers at less-than-100% crit and called it a day.

http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=95539&page=4&p=641817&viewfull=1#post641817

This is the dev forum post with the details. Basically the PRD doesn't account for no-crit rolls properly with multiple crit sources. 6 crits actually results in ~84% crit because of this.

Hi guys,

I played DotA public games like 6 or 7 years ago and I am just getting back into it. Doing the tutorial stuff right now, the bots there seem pretty easy to beat.
A couple of questions:

- How does this mass attack animation canceling work? Does it make sense to practice that as a returner? If so, what is the easiest way to do it?
- I remember most of the items from DotA Allstars. How reliable are the item-builds that the game itself suggests? Is it a good idea to use builds that were standard back then?
- Does the game punish leavers in some way?
- How well does the matchmaking work in your opinion?

It just throws opponent's last hit timings off, and allows you to control when your hit goes if your at the point where you can last hit properly, then practicing this doesn't hurt if it hurts your last hitting just don't bother with it yet. If you have auto-attack just spam stop or right-click stop if you don't.

For the most part, following the item guides is reasonable, the builds that were standard back then pretty much became the item build guides for the most part. There's some silly items though for heroes, but those become really obvious pretty quickly.

Yeah, leave enough you get in low priority pool where you only get matched with others in LPQ and no battle points which lowers the amount of items you get.

It's good for the most part although it's fun to blame it for losses.

Matchmaking is terrible. Do not play by yourself unless you want to lose half your games due to stupid teammates or something. You will rarely get a good game, its either stomp or get stomped.

I've played plenty of solo matchmaking, and I generally get quite decent games. And almost all of my losses could have been avoided by me playing better. I think playing MM by yourself is totally fine, the main downsides to me is the occasional toxic behavior.

I feel the same way about MM at our level, though obviously there's still a discrepancy between yours and mine. However whenever I'm playing with RL or other newbie mates on a smurf there is definitely a much higher chance for the randoms to be, well, random.

Ok so I see alot of guides on Weaver nowadays suggest Treads Linkens Deso. I think in Dota 1 Deso still clashes with his Geminate attack though, so what would be the best damage item for him then?

MKB is decent on Weaver. Also, you don't have to always go linkens especially in pubs.

You usually shouldn't go Linken's in pubs. Typically games are not farmy enough in pubs to allow you to do so.

If you are playing DotA 1, then typically MKB/Crit are the items of choice.

Does MKB and crit interact different in dota1 than dota2 with his orb or something?

No they are just the highest pure +dmg items essentially (outside of superbasher and rapier). The fact that the minibash or crit only happen on the first hit is unfortunate but they are still excellent items overall for DPS, especially since attack speed doesn't scale so well on weaver due to geminate working worse with attackspeed than with on-hit procs.

I wonder if superbasher wouldn't be legit on weaver in dota 1 o.o
