The drafts were not good. Don't know how much of that is on Art.

Now we see how resilient their team dynamics are. Do they continue to follow Art's lead or go Lord of the Flies?

What a crap day, hard to watch. Mistakes all around. Sonneiko was really the only bright spot for me. Really worried about Funn1k, and the overall decision making.

Hope they can adjust. Seems like what is wrong would be hard to fix though.

Funn1k actually stepped up his game a lot after the disastrous move at the start. I thought he was one of the better players on his side from that point on.

That game was not as frustrating to watch for me as most of the other ones, simply because they were facing Secret and mostly just got outplayed by a better team. The losses vs coL (esp the first one) and the throws yesterday looked much less "acceptable", so to speak.

Well now they gotta accept the fact that (barring a miracle) they'll play from LB, try to relax, play solid and maybe experiment a bit until groups are over. I'd rather see them fail in group stages than in the final bracket tbh (though being low ranked will definitely make things more difficult for them anyway)

Yea Funn1k improved in that last. I'm trying to be optimistic...his brood was just flat out underwhelming among other things (though the brood wasn't 100% his fault). He gets caught out of position seemingly a lot too. I'm with you for sure on the group stage thing. It's the perfect opportunity to play loose and learn some stuff since they are pretty much doomed to lower 4 in the group.

Sonneiko ES gave me goosebumps

i'm happy... yeah i'd like better results but na'vi ARE playing way better than last months, so who knows... still much time before TI ends

agreed. their performance the last 2-3 months is better than what i expected but losing 3 games that we were on the edge of winning makes me feel bad just looking at yesterday and today.

Well, 0-2 against coL was not expected... Hopefully they will take 1 game off Secret

Never said I did expect that specific series to go that way. In fact I was positive about our chances to go 2-0 to start the day. thinking about those first two days I think what I'm missing is a specific own style. support ns seems to be abandoned (which i'm happy about), wyvern is now a pick that others teams do aswell and apart from the slardar it seems as if the team is mostly following trends.
I always thought navi is strongest when drafting what they like instead of what the meta is. Maybe it's the same at the moment or it's just that the team isn't dominant enough anymore to get away with it but I feel that they would've done better if they brought a few unexpected things. LS, timber or such things that they did shine on in the past.

I didn't meant to say you expected something, it was just a statement.

Anyway, as always they lack of a way to deal with split push. First game against coL it wasn't even NS splitting but Lina... I guess the new meme will be pick NS ez win against NaVi.

I hope they can get it together today and tomorrow, not for the points but for their own mental sanity. Better go into LB with the best mindset possible.

Good luck guys.

A 0-2 against Secret was expected, but a 0-2 again col was sad to see.

Well, they still have a chance to get to WB, but they need to 6-0 against LGD, Fnatic and IG. I still believe.

With a bit of luck (other teams failing a bit) 2 wins and a tie (vs LGD) may be enough. But I'm afraid that they are tilting really hard right now.

i dont think so.... they know they are the underdogs and dendi in some TI interview said that they feared col, because it wasd underrated by everyone but won easily NA qualifiers... infact they lost to them... i repeat, i like how they are playing, they truly improved in the last 2 months... the second game vs secret was kinda equal till min 35, not bad against the favorites and with a worse draft (storm razor vs am O_o)

entertaining series. sad that it mostly cements a start in the lb but what can you do. need to not get my hopes up too much but the guys aren't playing to bad in most of their losses. maybe they make it through the first bo1 in the lb and surpise us with a good run in bo3s

If they were going to win a game against LGD it was going to be the first one I think. Well played up to a point, and then, bad played. Oh well. Almost certainly lower bracket now (I haven't done the math).

Sad that they are in lb. But I think navi fans can be proud because while results are banot optimal, navi has not been embarrassed.

I mean this was basically all we could ask for most of this season.

To be fair, most loses werent that one sided a lot of those games could have been won

c9 game 1 and mvpp game 1 come to mind, we could have 7 points at this point if that happened

im happy we are here

Still not out of it yet, if they can just play like they do for their best games, they can make a good lower bracket run.

They are playing better overall in comparison to the past two or three months, what I feel they are lacking is direction and directives, I will explain:
They know what heroes they can pick, they can perform good enough with them, their team fight is on par with many other teams BUT it seems to me they don't know how they want to get through the whole game. I mean, they pick this and this and that "we can pull off good fight with this and win lanes, great" and then comes the time when they should already know what to do but they always end up waiting for opportunities more than creating them with specific actions, and that is how they lose their advantage.

I have seen many games where NaVi is trying to go high ground as five and they fail, in the same situation Secret would try to hold the opponent and choke them as four without even going high ground while the 5th is split pushing taking a tower or splitting their opponent and then go high ground.

For me is clear that NaVi has the means to win almost any game but they don't know how to do it, if they knew, they would have not lost those four matches they were winning.

Anyway, I am happy with what they are doing right now, given the year they had and the level of dota we see from everyone in TI5, even though they could have done better they are doing ok.

Thats the real problem

i dont think the draft or laning stages were that bad, and even the mid game was decent, the real problem is finishing the games, knowing exactly what to do to end the game, they are having issues at that point.

Game 1 agaisnt MVP and c9 come to mind. one of the games agaisnt LGD also.

the team besides losing a lot is playing better, hopefully they see this and dont demoralize because of the results.

i'm honestly starting to think that the prob now is xboct. i never blamed him but his playstyle is the only one in the team that hasn't changed.
the game, tho, has changed a lot. Everybody shines in their "old" role, but they adapted to play even something else (Dendi CAN play mid farming heroes, if needed). xboct didn't. yesterday we saw sonnenko playing as a carry starting from pos 4 and well... he carried better than xboct in several other games.

the last really great xboct game that i saw, where he carried the team, was the one w the lesh gank in rorsh pit during Ti qualifiers. in this TI he farms perfectly, but the pure hard carry role is not as performant as it was 2 years ago. and the games are won mainly from dendi+sonnenko rotations. he needs to update his play because when dendi is shut down he HAS to emerge and he's not doing it

oh and that's even why they cant finish the games... the "pure" hard carry needs very long time to be ready, but the meta doesn't give it to him, so in the lategame na'vi is basically 4vs5 if they didn't stomp the midgame

EDIT: that, and artstyle feeding :D :D
