I want them to finish top 4 minimum but we played very well in the qualifier if you remember, we were on fire beating COL very easily who destroyed the likes of Optic in another qualifier too. So i expect top 4 and hope for the win :D
The bracket is super hard for us but at least it is double elimination! Still hopefully Secret be a bit tired from all their traveling i mean they just finished in China, now have to go to Sweden!
Oh nice it starts friday and i booked a day off hype!

just out of curiosity, why do you refer to EG as "we"? i just find it funny that fans can be so immersed in it, they think they are apart of the team and organization. no BM intended. lol. I do realize it's a sports thing but i never understood it.

I'm going to go with a couple of different reasons.
It's naturally a lot easier to say something like we beat you when talking to an opponents fan than my team beat your team, or EG beat Secret. Or picture a group of friends at a bar watching a football game and your team won, it's just easier to say something like "Ya we won" than "Ya the Patriots won!"
When antagonizing other people for their sport team, by calling it we/us and you, it makes it more personal so the harassment is likely to be more potent.
Some people dedicate a shit ton of their lives to their sports. Picture how much time diehard fans of a Baseball team spend watching the games and reading the news on their team. They probably spend so much time on it that it legitimately feels like the team is a part of their life.

Yeah i can understand the time investment. but regardless, these are the same individuals who are extremely violent and radical. and why in sporting events break out in fights over something that is not necessarily even necessary. it's almost like at some point you have to delude yourself that you are apart of it, due to how obsessed you've become, and i find that quite scary and how commonly it happens.
I guess in my case i understand but the concept still seems so foreign to me. simple labels, results in this myriad of self delusion and behavior of speech. I mean just look at the way the 2017 election was, people were killing each other due to simply siding with either republicans and democrats. i guess i'm just baffled at how idiotic people are in a simple title. the concept is laughable to me, so i never take anyone who falls to this kinda logic seriously.

Also have to remember that sporting events typically involve large amounts of alcohol in the pre-game tailgate followed by large amounts of alcohol during the game, then opposing fans next to you bad mouthing something that you presumably support/hold dear. It isn't surprising when people with limited self control get into fights under these conditions.

I use "we" for the team I support both in football and in dota, I have invested large amounts of time into both games. But I am not extremely violent, not even a little violent I think or radical... I just love these games, and have found teams that I like and want to support. Both fans and the players alike use the term "we" for the supporters as they are indeed a part of the club... If there are no supporters, there wont be any club (atleast not of any importance). Using "we" to talk about your team is very normal, and not at all delusional... It just means u feel like your part of something, and as a fan you really are. Sorry for bad english, sitting on phone at work
Anyways, go EG today! Secret been a bit up and down lately, but for the most part they look strong.

Yeah like others say, i have invested in EG alot just like Chelsea my football team, Chelsea alot more way more, 20 years of my life, where as EG i found through sc2 back in 2010 etc so yeah i just invest and it becomes we and becomes that weird sense. Might be an English/European thing idk.

Think in normal sports are seen as part of the club. When players talk about a victory the often give credit to fans for support. you talk about the twelth man in football, and you cant imagine playing without spectators. The fans are part of the club and you can talk about WE. Of cause everybody know is playing and winning. You can break it down to individual archievements and as the saying goes "in the end everybody dies alone", but think people like being part of a community and feel share in victory even they didnt earn themself, and i think its fine to do that.

I don't see them beating loser of VP/Liquid, if they can even beat Infamous.
Next tournament.

EG day 1 lol
They needed to have their butts kicked to wake up tho. You can't be the best doing the average, you would thought they got the memo when Liquid tryharded the whole year to win TI.
