Don't think you can say that without knowing which tournaments they are already attending etc. Maybe they choose not to enter that tournament because they are going to go somewhere else before hand.
Maybe they have alot of engagements and dota to play in November and will give players a rest during December and then go some more in January with the Captains Draft they already playing in which is the first week of 2018.
Just going to leave what i see EG playing in as of right now.
Dream League S8 Qualifiers 11th November
Midas Mode 18th November online tournament
Dream League S8 LAN 1st December (If qualify)
MDL Macau LAN 8th December (Qualifiers in November you would assume)
Captains Draft LAN 4th January
Summit would be a few days after MDL macau which i assume maybe EG are wanting to try and go to instead. Then they have January Captains Draft tournament. So that is still a healthy amount of action and i think EG have been every MDL tournament right? Seem to get along with those guys alot.

What is this page? Where did these people come from? The patch has been out ~ a week, with a minor patch just being released. There have been a grand total of 1 tournament that has been played on the patch in which EG was not a part of, so as of right now we really don't know much about EG's current state.

This is so strange, it's a discussion forum about EG, and then people can't dicuss. If you disagree with people fine. Just think it's arrogant way to discuss things.
Also leave it to the pros, its not like EG is winning could use that arguement for TL.

He is saying there was 1 tournament EG failed to qualify for in which the new patch was on. Since then there has been no tournaments for EG to play or even qualifiers. The first NA qualifiers are for DreamLeague NA which they are in? The first tournament for EG on the new patch is the Midas Mode event which is 2nd week of November.
Then the qualifiers for Dota Summit 8 for NA would be like week 2/3 November i assume.
EG are more than busy enough in November/December without the need to play in Summit 8, providing they are trying to attend MDL Macau.

JGwinworth has been acting like he knows what's best for EG and constantly writing "the end is nigh! why aren't EG doing exactly what I want them to do?! they are doomed!!!" kind of posts with little foundation to do so. It gets tiresome after a while. I'm sure that the boys have a plan regarding tournaments they will or will not attend, there's no need for panic.

so for whatever reason, sumail actually replied for a good 2 minutes or so in twitch chat to me when i asked him questions about EG's recent performances and their current state. (Take this for what you will).
He's quite dissatisfied with himself and his own performance. (makes sense) since i don't think he's the type to blame others. one thing he did say that really stuck out to me was that he even offered to LEAVE eg due to how bad he himself admitted to performing. other than that, it was more or less the synergy not meshing with the captain and his drafts.
that's about all i remembered him saying on the stream. he rarely does stream so if he has vods, it might be up in his last one where he replies to me. now i hope this doesn't get taken out of context or anything, but yeah high level players takes losses quite hard, they know what to expect of themselves on a good day.

sumail was one of the best (possibly the best) dota players for a long time. it seemed like every game there was a pogchamp moment. it was really hard to be an eg fan before sumail. he transformed the team.
people caught up, the game is different, he fell behind, i do not know. the magic isn't the same. maybe the current eg free fall can bring about some change. i have hope.

We back in action tomorrow boys! Dream League qualifier begins, EG vs DC 20:00 GMT (+00:00) should be fun fun! Hoping we crush this qualifier to put all doubts to bed :D

EG not in qualifiers for MDL Macau which would point surely they are one of the direct invites? Which makes sense as they always go/get invited to MDL events?
Then again Liquid aren't in the EU qualifier either. Nor Team Secret hmm xD

Finally an EG game.
At this point I feel like EG has the schedule and know what they want to attend, plus TL, EG, and Secret not showing up makes me think there is something wrong with the organizers or something wrong with a bloated schedule.
There's no VP either. I think 2 of those 4 teams got a direct invite. OG and Newbee are in the qualifiers.

Well played by EG today, showing ten different heroes and two completely different strategies.

Also team synergy looked much better in those fights, DC wasn't the hardest opponent but EG looked really solid with good drafts and some old classic heroes showing up

Yeah liked what EG bought to the table today. Rtz and Sumail with great farm and good solid play. Universe on NP or initiators is what i want to see! Can't wait to see him on Beastmaster, god that hero is broken af.

Nice play again from EG today. Like how they're utilizing both Sumail and Arteezy as the 1 depending on the game, rather than having it always be one of them. Seeing Arteezy get sac'd every game and struggling wasn't the most fun.

Nice to see the Arteezy gyro, the hero I remember the most from his secret round 2 days.

twitch dreamleague has all of yesterdays matches.
EG played very well, lots of different strategies they used. RTZ very improved.
Fun to see Cr1t on WW in final as big finger to haters. But found them matches where he played more rubik more enjoyable to watch then him on more defensive hero together with Orgre Magi.
Think they moved big step closer the tier 1 teams like Tl, VP and Sercret, so well be very to see them against them.
