I fucking hate politics on environmental issues.
You have people pretending there's no issues on one side and you have people demonizing non-issues or trivial/minor things on the other side.
You still have people crying about NIMBY bullshit because someone wants to place a windmill 10km into the ocean, which makes me realize how truly fucking hopeless the climate debate is because people just wants other people to solve the issue for them. Somehow them having to see a windmill out in the ocean is an actual issue people listen to and consider when deciding if we can place more windmills, when we have a CO2 issue getting increasingly worse due to inaction.
I already didn't think we'd pull through but now I'm convinced and certain, humanity will persist, but we're definitely gonna drag the environment and billions of lives with us down to oblivion.
I love my new job but christ I hate every aspect of politics I have to touch because of my job.

People won't understand climate change is an true issue until it starts affecting their daily lives in a drastic way. Water, food, and power shortages, mass migrations, sea level rising etc. But it'll be too late by then to do anything about it. Meanwhile a guy I know told me global warming is good because we'll be able to grow watermelons and oranges in Poland when it gets warmer.

I'm all for nuclear power in Denmark but it's sadly too late for it to be viable here.
It takes forever to build a plant and it takes even longer for it to become profitable. Nobody wants to build it now, while when people did want to build it in the 70s/80s there was a giant public outcry against it in Denmark.
Even if public and political support is for it, nobody's gonna build it.
What a mistake, we're a country with no natural disasters, mild weather, lots of nearby water and perfect conditions to build nuclear power plants.

I feel like that's a weirdly specific group to hate, especially given the other options. Like you could hate racists, murderers, pedophiles, Republicans, but rather you'll just hate people that are more than likely slightly behind the curve on science.

My province paid a billion dollars (technically 950 million) to cancel two power plants almost a decade ago, we're still feeling the pain from that shit lol
