12 games and then game 13 is "black wins in case of draw" would be interesting but also kinda weird. That being said, that's what they do for armageddon (5 mins as white 4 as black, randomly selected, black wins in case of draw). I think switching to a system with no tiebreaks at all (6-6 means current champion wins) would also be kinda strange, not sure if players would really go for it. | ||

Like GO and other board games, the players are very much aware when they are out of gas. There is no powering through to the other size and getting back on your game. You just lose. | ||
