Blizzard made precisely one game for the HC community, which was SC2, and even then they used it to try and bring HC-gaming to the non-HC masses.
Their original line of games were the then-equivalent of mass-market AAA titles. They were innovative but not especially hardcore-oriented. One of these just happened to become the crown jewel of eSports off the back of unintentional mechanics and pure serendipity, at a time when blizz themselves were focused on the giant casual money factory that is/was wow.
A bunch of years later blizz realised they could cash in this whole eSports thing, and made SC2. They had a red-hot go, but even here they tried to focus on accessibility and had a lot of issues re-bottling the eSports lightning due to this (see colossi vs bw reavers). Which is fine, by the way. SC2 wouldn't have sold half as many copies if it had been a BW reskin with all the painful 90 mechanics.
Since then they've pretty much focused on casualised versions of more hardcore games - HS vs MTG, HOTS vs dotes. They've never, ever been the type of by-hardcores for-hardcores company you seem to have in your head.
If anything they seem to see themselves as a company built on dumbing down hardcore stuff for the masses, which mobile Diablo would actually be a textbook example of.

TBH: Blizzard is a company that refines design ideas found in other games and adds the Blizzard polish onto everything. They, like Nintendo, are the the closest thing we have to Disney in video games. They have this comically bitter group of self titled "hard core gamers" that is so upset Blizzard doesn't make games only for them. And every couple of Blizcons they throw a fit over something embarrassing.
Seriously, making games for "the masses". This is like the worst elitism of film critique, but over a video games about punching the devil until he goes away.

we should do a 8 man HC run of LoD at some point. first one dying has to play support paladin next run! no turning back from a battle after clearing act 1. Duriel or bust

Hard to work employees to death if you don't make any games.
Also doubt their stock or results will suffer. Dota lost 2/3rds of its playerbase and they are still breaking bank. It's like the golden age of poker, you just have to abuse the whales.
There's just a small disconnect with blizzard expecting their audience to be hyped for a mobile game when they have released what, 3 games for consoles and one topdeckmoba for iPaddles in the last two decades. The ex-audience also needs to realize that anyone ambitious enough to make a videogame has left the company by now. And I do consider sc2 a real game, their last games just have minimal gameplay mechanics or any new lore really (, not to praise sc2 lore).

I love it when fast food Twitter gets sassy.

I've recently been doing more administrative tasks at my job and it's a nice change of pace from the day-to-day grind, even tough I'm still getting used to increased responsibility.
edit: oh I passed the 5k posts mark

It's not like that in Canada (not that many people are so familiar with coroners per se, but my uncle is a career public servant and has a reasonably important role as a provincial coroner. judicial, not medical)

MA doesn't vote on that silly stuff.

I have traveled down a dark rabbit hole to find replacement rockband 2 parts and accessories. This is a bad place of a bygone era of gaming. Or an era that never should have never been linked to consoles and just worked through a streaming service or something. Like an apple TV, but for music and plastic instruments.
