It's one of those grey zones where it's not that my mmr is super high, it's that it's too high comparatively. And it just gets really annoying to lose every single game until your mmr is low enough for it to work, not to mention finding a willing victim edit - also it works as a stat reset, you can't reset your stats/mmr and recalibrate ever on any dota account so people just make new ones. If they gave the option to pay to recalibrate or just have recalibration ever occur there would probably be a lot fewer smurfs. (All the people trapped in elo hell usually make a smurf to prove that they are, 98% of them wind up being the same mmr and the other 2% are only like 300 higher with very rare exceptions). | ||
