Gameplay looked really good imo. Mostly annoyed that it was played on a console, but other than that its exactly what I want from the game. EDIT: They even uploaded the gameplay on their youtube channel, so I can watch the first 40 minutes that I missed. | ||

My thoughts: + Show Spoiler + Thought it looked fine, but nothing as impressive as all the hype that was garnered through previews. Gunplay looks fine, and the damage numbers are acceptably small. Not a big fan of the Fallout 4 style dialogue that can obscure what you intend to say or do. The open world looks nice enough and bustling, but I did see a little pop-in at the beginning when you enter the streets. Graphically nothing too amazing, but I'm not complaining too much. But I'm a little concerned it does seem to be following more in modern AAA trends than defying them. Big plus for at least allowing you to skip the "cutscenes" that are integrated into the gameplay. | ||

The camera movement feels too unnatural for me. Meh, Witcher3 looked amazing and ran on shitty hardware reasonably well. | ||

I also know that idiots will pitch a fit if the graphics are somehow changed in the next 2 years before final release. These are the same people who will also freak out at any outlet that reports on the less than great working conditions at CDproject Red. They are outrage junkies. | ||

I just pray it doesn't take up an absurd amount of space and download to play. I can tolerate 60-80 GB, but if it's dipping into the 100 gigs tier I might have to make the sad choice to avoid it. It's weird how people are bitching and moaning about how the game is already stamped on their shitlist because of the wonky animations and effects. Jesus Christ guys they plastered on "WORK IN PROGRESS" across the video, and aspects like that are usually fine tuned later. | ||

It is a huge game that a section of people feel this completely unearned ownership over. When the Witcher 3 came out people were weirdly defensive of that game, even with the most mild critiques, while also freaking out about the "down grade" in graphics. I remember a weird amount of backlash against an article about how the main city evoked a medieval city, but was maze like for no real reason. It got to the point where one of the developers at CDPR said "all reviews and critiques are valid and we welcome them." Edit: Billy Gibson may have been the founder of Cyberpunk fiction, but it was all the people after him that made it the setting it is today. Neromancer is a book with a lot of ideas and not a lot of characters worth remembering. | ||
