a lot of his observations are on the money in various subtle ways this was what made me laugh though: “I noticed how little difference there is between men and women; I don’t understand what kind of fatal attraction Chinese women possess which enthrals the corresponding men to such an extent that they are incapable of defending themselves against the formidable blessing of offspring” which i read as 'wtf these ladies are so androgynous there has to be some hidden mechanism by which chinese women are utilizing to force these men to copulate with them and produce offspring i see no other alternative' i think the whole racism thing is overblown though media overdramatizing as always his actions later in his life spoke much louder than his private musings | ||

It is kinda naive to assume people from the past are different for whatever reason. And depending on your sins you can actually atone for them later in life. I've been a prick to people and think and act like a moronic racist/sexist sometimes. Nobody's perfect but unless we're entirely ignorant about our faults I don't think you should tie a noose out of them. (I wonder if the saying works in English lol) | ||
