Havent been watching too closely but thats kinda the nature of that role yeah? Ppd/rotk/puppey all have struck me as occasionally derpy and mechanically flawed players that are obviously brilliant when it comes to understanding the game based on their propensity towards winning.

Hey, I used to play a shitload with ppd and puppey and I gotta say I think this is real off base (particularly for puppey). Ppd has played core and gotten high mmr (and maintained it) plenty of times. While he may not mechanically be able to hold his own against other pros, he's still not what I'd consider derpy by any means.

And puppey (at least back before I quit when I was still playing competitive stuff, so 2015) was actually an incredibly good micro oriented player. He spammed enigma and Chen to get top 5 on the EU leaderboards (though did both as jungle heroes). And when visage was still a support he was normally the visage player. I'd say he's probably one of the most mechanically inclined support players (unless he's fallen way off in the last 3 years)

Despite how I actually like the LoL art style more than DotA, I think if I want to play a video game, I'd let gameplay take priority over appearance.

And if I REALLY wanted magical girl video games, I have two Hyperdimension games I haven't even really gotten into yet.

Riot has taken the Blizzard route of making these almost elemental characters that fill specific archetypes and letting their fan base fill in a narrative. And they are not shy about wearing those influences on their sleeves. Jinx is basically off brand Harley Quinn without the abusive boyfriend. I generally like the gameplay of Dota more. It has a larger possibility space. But it is easier to get invested League characters.

If i didn't know dota i would probably be invested in LoL as well but i played dota since i was a kid and when i tried LoL it did not fit my expectation so it didn't stick

I overall dislike league's designs(For every 1 design i like there's 10 i dislike). + they believe you can't make ugly monster characters because people apparently won't play ugly monster characters, which is fucking idiotic, seemed like a shitty excuse for them just making shitty monster designs. Maybe they've changed their mind on that but it's idiotic to me.

Some characters in LoL like Poppy have really neat backstories and fun designs, but the game as a whole is so triggering to play that I just can't stand it. I quit it for good after it made me so mad I rage-abandoned from a match that I was playing in a 5-stack with my buddies. Dota can be frustrating but LoL is just on another level of that

I just can’t deal with having to walk around the map to get to a fight. All I want is town portal scrolls and a low cool down blink dagger to go fast. And for Rammus to be good, because he is dope. Poppy also good, with an amazing ult.

I haven't played LoL in, like, 5 years, but one thing that Dota has that I thought made it way better in terms of character personality were the character interactions when walking near them early on or when killing/dying.

Yeah, DotA's got better flavour and character design for the most part, but I for some reason liked that anime-esque aesthetic.

Although I'm also a weeb, so I'm sure nobody comes to me for design inspiration.
