Amazon is pretty notable for not doing that in most cases (imdb, alexa.com, audible, zappos, goodreads, etc) with woot's ruining being the primary exception. But I don't know anything about twitch here.

I was wondering why the shuffling was making such waves on the Twitch-verse, which led me to that tweet. They also dropped some former streamers/progamers and long-time members from the staff list, so I was wondering if it actually had implications or reflected some problems with the company.

Twitch hasn't struck me as particularly competent and certain people have seemingly got positions that they're totally not qualified for just because they're friends with the right people. That's how it works everywhere but it's like it was amplified at Twitch.

That's what happens when you go from random esports/gaming startup to being acquired by a big N company. Twitch is swarming with incompetent people who then hired their even more incompetent friends. Early on Twitch was pretty much hiring anyone with 1-2+ years of esports volunteer experience (basically anyone that knew pros/streamers or had an inside scoop). Oh you managed a tier 3 Dota 2 team for 6 months? Come be a partnership manager haha!

It's actually less of an issue than people are making it out to be. As PV already guessed, it's really par for the course in silicon valley. Should note it sucks for those employees, just not the company.

edit: with that being said there's tons of amazing/smart employees who were there from the beginning. And they probably weren't fired

I knew he was still around in some context, but aside from the fact that he labels himself as a "consultant" I don't actually know what he does and where he does it. He left the journalist life behind at least, with the exception of tweets like these.

Didn't expect it to take 5 days to go from ancient 4 to ancient 5 after I decided to climb a bit, 3-4 was much faster. Seems to be around 4650 now a days for ancient 5. Not sure if I should go up to divine 0 or stay here for easier battle cups :p
