Well if we consider major reworks, there's also Drow, Centaur, TB, and Phoenix. Drow and Centaur reworks were broken, but not tremendously so. TB and Phoenix were broken, but it's not a big deal because the heroes were still fundamentally broken prior to their reworks and the remakes didn't change enough for that to not be the case.

i mean if you look at all the heroes added since dota 2 (~2011):
tusk- barely played
phoenix- reworked multiple times, probably imbalanced on release
swm- buffed multiple times before he got imba
ember spirit- imbalanced on release
timbersaw- buffed a lot, never been imba (though there was a point after TI3 when he got picked a lot but he only got a minor nerf)
LC- pretty balanced
arc warden- theoretically imba as fuck
winter wyvern- balanced, mostly been buffed since release
earth spirit- imba
oracle- imba
AdministratorIn those days, spirits were brave, the stakes were high, men were real men, women were real women, and small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri were real small furry creatures from Alpha Centauri.

i really miss terrorblade i wish icefrog hadn't nerfed him into the ground after TI4

edit: and the worst part is that its probably gonna take icefraud about a year and a half to make him viable again after those nerfs

lol what is this revisionist history about TI4

"Death balls" were not a problem leading up to TI4. Like, leading up to TI4, EG and DK were spearheading relatively slow, farm-oriented playstyles with comparatively farm-focused mid, safe lane, and support play. VG, which was the team that primarily launched the style into prominence was a total mess until a relatively close to the event. Even at The Summit, their play wasn't totally refined enough for a lot of teams to consider the playstyle itself that scary.

Huh, that is simply not true? Nor painting the complete picture. Even for some of the examples you cite. EG played and drafted incredibly aggressive safe lanes when compared to the norm. Now granted, that was partially due to their lineup, but its a far cry from a "farm focused" playstyle.

leveling up party ranked has been pretty torturous. 4.2k storm players vs our lowly 3k silencer who is last wording creeps...not great.

hell, leveling my solo ranked has the same shit.

EG has never drafted or played anything that can be seen as "incredibly aggressive" until after TI4

Their 3 stable safe laners were veno, tide and panda . All of which are significantly more aggressive than your usual agi carries.

EG drafted zai greedy junglers/supports all the time- visage, enigma, ursa (that one game at TI4), etc. enigma was one of their most played heroes at TI4 and no safelane with enigma is going to be considered "incredibly aggressive"

I've never seen much point in party ranked. The fact that you move in lockstep with your friends makes it really weird.

If you really wanted to grind it it would be a game of finding friends who are underrated because they mostly solo or whatever, And then you could collect MMR as they equilibrate to the point where your being overrated now outweighs them being underrated.

You could probably also get a lot by partying with people way down in the trench where it can't really match you well so you stomp, or finding 2.5k buddies and giving them simple stuff to do so they play at least a 3k jugger or something.

Idk it seems mostly trickery and grinding if you really care about it. But mine is like 600 lower than my solo so maybe I'm just making excuses.
