What about the semi-recent heroes that were released and weren't over-the-top or too strong? Not all new heroes have been over-the-top stupid broken.

In addition, over the last few years there where extended periods of time during which the majority of the playerbase, including pros, found the gameplay either stale, or lacking for other reasons. (Think pre Ti4 death balls or I think it was 6.72)

All new heroes have been pretty much broken on release, we just didn't play the version in WC3 where they were.

I think at some point you should actually test your changes somewhat more thoroughly before they go live. LC, SWM, Timber Wether some of them might've still needed some small nerfs, none of them were bonkers on release honestly.

Edit: forgot oracle existed 6.73 - Ember, Timber, SWM, LC 6.75 - WW, Arc warden 6.77 - ES and Oracle Out of these the only ones i would say were(and might still be) far too strong on release were ember, warden, ES and oracle rest were pretty alright and it's not like ember was Warden tier.

Like, leading up to TI4, EG and DK were spearheading relatively slow, farm-oriented playstyles with comparatively farm-focused mid, safe lane, and support play. VG, which was the team that primarily launched the style into prominence was a total mess until a relatively close to the event. Even at The Summit, their play wasn't totally refined enough for a lot of teams to consider the playstyle itself that scary.
