People are far more likely to watch them if they are playing EG. Noone will care about Pain vs Isurus or whathever. And if they manage a fluke win, that's awesome for them. I can't really agree with exposure as an argument either.

That's the issue. Rules say the teams have to agree for that to be the case. But all conversations with the admins implied that either all teams agreed, or that the written rules are wrong. Basically it's undeniable the admins screwed up, they confirmed US-BR in private messages.

The problem here really is that there's no objective way to meassure which team is "deserving" of an invite slot. Of course currently most people would agree that EG is deserving of one, but that's not an adequate method of determining it. I guess it gives off a douchy vibe because they go: "Lel were better than every1 else, so we deserve preferntial treament."

Which is point of this discussing. The admins backed out on their ruling, which was explicitly stated to the other teams, just because EG asked right before the game started.
If you rule it is going to be US-BR you don't back out of it like that.

The server ruling wasn't really what created the drama anyway, it just blew up because of PPD's douchy response, specially when it was clear Pain wasn't being unreasonable.
