Literally when Broodwar came out. It also has amazing atmosphere and a really solemn tone. The story is that your race build the first ship to travel across the stars begin a new life on another planet. The thing is awesome and can build other ships because its so huge. But when it returns from its test flight, you found your home planet nuked to a crisp with little explanation. You spend the rest of the game traveling across the stars trying to find out who destroyed your race and why. It was the first game to simulate in real time space combat in a 3D space, back when we only had like 32 megs of ram in a PC. The game is awesome. No Homeworld Cataclysm though, that bums me out. That game was also awesome. | ||
