Are you sure it's cpu and not your upload?

100% sure. i get 15mbps up. i got the red msg at the bottom of obs saying my cpu usage was too high.

Take a quick look through your running processes and see what is eating up your CPU? Might not even be OBS.

its dota and obs, trust me i looked...dunno if dota or obs suffered an increase in cpu required, but those are the two culprits.
maybe its bc i haven't cleaned my pc in a while? could be running hot from dust? i doubt it.
e: ill try again later or something..could have been an obs thing that was fixed mb

I don't think dust could affect CPU usage. I've had heat problems before and I didn't notice anything weird with my CPU.
Oh and with heat problems it usually bogs down for a bit and then speeds back up in an annoying cycle. At least that's my experience with computers with heat problems.
You could give it a try though. Nothing wrong with cleaning your PC.

ya i have that. the microphone's levels consistently shift. (recording > device > properties > levels)
