I've heard it on the radio but seen nothing regarding any consequences for people or industry in any medium I frequent.

Personally no, I have a gas stove but I haven't heard anything about supply disruptions (yet). We have a baltic port for gas tankers too so it's not like we are completely cut off. Probably some other supply routes that I'm not aware of too. I'm sure it will get worse in the autumn and winter once people start heating their homes. Coal is already getting expensive since we have been importing a lot from russia and our domestic supply has been declining in recent years due to coal mine downscaling and closures. Edit: I read a bit about this and the gas port is being expanded to increase capacity and we are also close to opening a gas pipe from Norway.

I wonder whether the penalties for keeping the lignite open pit mine open are suspended for the time being. Haven't found anything in German in that direction. It's not really something I'd condone in peace times but if it helps and doesn't impede efforts to built a more sustainable energy supply, I think it should be done. If the money went to renewable energies or grid infrastructure, the EU should pay back the fine.

It was a good run. Not like the forums and the OTGD community are going away, but I'll miss this site.

![]() It's been a hell of a ride, but I can't say I'm too sad about migrating back to the place where it all started for me. Funny coincidence that some of us are going to be at a meetup on June 15th. I guess I'll have to post the pics in the new thread! Those were pretty special years for Dota for me Yeah, probably when most of us were at university and had time to play lol Will the forums migrate over wholesale or are we going to need a new otgd thread?

Those were pretty special years for Dota for me Yea looking at my post stats there's a very significant drop towards the end of 2015. Looks like you dropped off at the start of 2015. Those years were really fun though. While I'm in a better place in my life overall, I definitely miss the Dota/TL parts of those days. It's still being discussed between Wax/R1CH, although the current plan is to basically reintegrate in a way where things are the same as they were before we launched LD. R1CH even found the old front page toggle code that lets users hide/unhide specific games/content. We'll for sure have our own sub-forum (just not sure on how it will be structured) at the very least, and the majority of our threads will be moved over so we can continue posting in OTGD like nothing happened.

Those were pretty special years for Dota for me This sounds about right to me. 2013-2015, maybe 2013-early 2016 has gotta be peak dota for me. I wasn't quite in university back then but passive's right that that definitely correlates with me being willing to spend a lot of time on dota lol. 2016's also when I took a job where I didn't want to post from the forums / watch games at work, which definitely changed stuff for me personally. I don't know how much the scene is different now vs how much I'm imagining things. It definitely felt a little less professionalized. I do think that the broader ESPORTS scene felt less professional, such that doing volunteer news posts felt more reasonable for dota back then than it might now. And it was definitely less clear what reddit was gonna do to traditional internet forums, and there were more folks around here, which made me enjoy the scene a lot more. I can't imagine being into dota or sc or anything without having a community like TL :/ Anyway I'm glad we're doing this, thinking about the decline here / the decline of internet forums in general really bums me out.
