Bro, in the part of germany I am living there has been 1 confirmed case in over a month. Apart from masks indoors and no big events (any events indoors really) life returned to mostly pre-covid now. I suspect this is the case for most EU countries now, so people are enjoying summer outside atm.

I was thinking more about the NA folks that have been missing. No idea what the situation is like in Canada but here it's still pretty bad. No restaurants, bars, sports or concerts to go to and lots of people are still working from home

My province has like 100 cases a day recently. Compared to the USA that's nothing but it's still quite a concerning amount and people are not taking enough precautions here imo.

I still have to go to the office every day tho xd

I'm starting to apply for jobs again now that places are hiring again around here. The market isn't great for software devs at the moment though, but at least the hiring freezes are mostly over (probably depends on where you are). Also spending a lot of time learning new shit and keeping my existing skills crisp lol

@sn0_man we've had spikes here too but it's heavily inflated by a few hutterite colonies getting hit hard. I think we have the highest amount of new cases per capita at the moment.

@passive honestly unless you're in Ontario most provinces are entering their final stages of reopening at this point. Sask in particular is back to normal with the exception of having social distancing standards in place everywhere (restaurants are at less than half capacity as well). Personally think we moved too fast on reopening though, and I'm sure most other provinces feel the same with cases going up again...

I would guess it's due to Teams having a more business-focused purpose with a specific feature they want compared to Skype, which I always viewed as the more casual videocall service.

My work is converting from using skype to MS teams. I'm feeling resistant to the change, even though Skype is pretty awful.

Sidenote: I don't actually get why MS has two competing platforms?
