I'm sorry poulsen for making fun of you liking this game Never finished it up but had some fun in the multiplayer as well as the single player. Was a simple mindless PvE if people abused the best weapons. Problem was getting those. Yeeeup, I'm going through and beating all the ones I sucked at doing back when I was a kid, almost done with Age of Kings, should be able to finish Ghengis and Saladin tomorrow The are so many African campaigns and the older ones are changed as well since there are 44 civs now. Started the Yodit (Ethiopian) campaign but can't load into the maps. Second one worked after ~3 tries. Third one I have failed ~10 times loading, even switched to windowed mode and high instead of ultra settings to try it out. Guess I need to wait for a patch before going back to the game. Have you tried to verify the game cache? Something probably didn't download correctly from the sounds of it. Worked after a restart. Think it was some conflict with the video player for Twitch since my browser also crashed a few times. Yup, 100% crashes if I tab to twitch stream. Wish they didn't shut down the method I used to watch in VLC. :/

If it had a behavior system so I wasn't playing with vocally shitty humans every game I'm sure I'd enjoy it... so yeah, a 5 stack makes sense :D
The only real part I'm 100% willing to stick to for "League is shittier than dota" is the client. League's client is fucking terrible. You can't look at your opponent (or allies) abilities in-game and basically all your 'in-client' learning is actually impossible and you gotta go to google. The number of times I've run into 'I have no fucking idea what this champion does' only to be met with "Go watch the champion spotlight for it" frustrates the fuck out of me. I am so glad I'm not the only one that can't stand league's client not being able to see opponents or even your teammates abilities. Hell you can't even get the numbers of other heroes abilities in the launcher, the only way to do it is go the wiki or play the damn hero, it's so annoying. I dabble in league a fair bit but will always prefer dota even if the actual gameplay of dota was worse(even though currently it's much better) if for no other reason than the functionality of a client. You can't even see how your own fucking abilities scale when you're ranking them up. No stuns for 1/1.25/1.5/1.75/2/2.25 seconds or anything, nor direct AP/AD/health/armour/whatever scaling ratios most of the time. Mostly it's just "Ranking it up increases its damage and lowers its cooldown some" Learning that game is so fucking frustrating and shitty. Yeah the client is bad, for the champions I want to play I just read the wiki and maybe watch some guide/spotlight on YT, I also downloaded an app that automatically sets my runes, item build and summoner spells in-game. The one thing that makes league acceptable for me is that it's much simpler than dota (no creep pulling, no worrying about bkb-piercing disables, easier itemisation etc.), it's easier to play it casually with friends. Plus some champions are really fun to play.

That is the one I used. Twitch shut down the API it used a week or two ago. Quick try didn't get it working again, so now I need to wait for next release.

I thought that was only an issue for a day tbh. Looks like it’s still happening though. There appears to be a temporary workaround(only for GUI users), but it might be better to just wait for the next release.

I want to believe it only because I swear I posted some wild speculation a while ago about valve making half life 3 a VR title because that would be the only way to blow people's minds like 1 and 2 did.

P.S. probably right to page eieio tbh but let's see read matt levine's daily newsletter for a year, everyone in finance reads it and its very accessible and he is very funny and it's a lot of content if you are coming at this from the angle of 'i would like to use my money to make money' you should just buy a few index funds and never think about anything else tho, do not get on robinhood do not do fancy things. I know that 'odd lots' is a podcast that some people like but I can't vouch it myself and it's probably less accessible. Mostly just read matt levine trust me ps i have been at my f i n a n c e job for over 3 years aint that wild

Still recommend matty L (disagree with emu on bloomberg being terrible otherwise but he is the best part of it) but idk what you should do otherwise - I typically just have my colleagues explain stuff to me lol

The game would be long done and dusted if they were really interested on making a good VR game back then.
It's an interesting problem google is going to face at some point. Unlike glass which is a piece of hardware people could buy, stradia is a full service where people can buy games without having a physical thing. And since google isn't some shitty start-up they can't just shut it down or let it fade away. They always have to provide the servers to play the shit people actually bought.

I'll concede that it's better than most of the alternatives, but most of those actually are "trash" so...
I mostly stopped reading after they went behind a paywall, although I came back briefly for three months to take advantage of their $2 (or was it $3?) for 3 months sub deal.

I was just about to apply for a position at Bloomberg on Friday but then the deadline closed just as I was about to submit :^(
I blame the person who told me the final day to apply was Sunday.

I blame the person who told me the final day to apply was Sunday. One of the guys in my last WoW guild was a dev at Bloomberg. Heard it wasn't too bad so I'd definitely keep an eye out for positions. The benefits are supposed to be really good, although work/life balance can be kind of "meh" depending on what team you end up on (although that's the case for any large company tbh).
|
I'm in the news/editorial division so I don't know if the experience was the same, but I heard from people in the industry that Bloomberg pays well, but the distance from the New York head office means they have only an iota of interest in your affairs, which is not good. Also they aren't unionized unlike some of Canadian media, and have strict quotas on words written per hour or day, which was presented to me as a real dictatorial system.
The new HL game isn't a hoax.

I see the hype is off the charts. Valve will sell a million Index headsets now.
