The minimum wage for waiters is 2.13$/hr . However, if they make less than the real minimum wage after tips then their employer is required to pay real minimum wage. The issue is that if a waiter asks for this they'll probably get fired. It is also pretty rare because America's minimum wage is absurdly low at 7.25 (most states are higher). If you're asking why this is the case, it is because of racist slave owners in the south who were pissed off that they had to actually pay their slaves after they were freed. So they setup a system where the freed slaves were tipped by the customer but had a 0$ wage. It also leaves the employee totally at the mercy of the customer, by design. There are some real horror stories any waitress can tell. | ||

I'd estimate he's prob like 1.5k / 2k mmr mechanically, but gamesense is gonna be rough for the first few games for him. Not sure what I play to not do nothing but also not carry the game and get smurfdetected. Is windrunner still really fun to play but actually not great at winning games? | ||

Not really. smurf detection also kicks in if you have a ridiculous kda for a few games in a row even if you lose iirc. Your best bet is like wisp or something that if you aren't good at the hero at all. Most new players are ~500 mmr, so that's pretty good if he is 1.5k. Timber is probably the worst pub hero that is still fun to play | ||

I was playing not-at-all-tryhard and was playing with buddies with no moba experience. The wins weren't all brutal stomps. Dota's smurf detection is odd and basically made it impossible to play with them, because they were 1k-2k players being dragged into 3.5k mmr games because idk why. It was frustrating. | ||

that said if u calibrate from scratch, it's not like it's going to put u unfairly high. Ur currently bad, u'll calibrate at bad other options include calibrate with no keyboard or new hotkeys or some shit | ||

 The wins were on lion/rubick/venge. The losses were on other roles. I guess I'll calibrate the first 10 games mouse only. That seems like a pretty good call. | ||
