I'm currently deciding whether to do gradschool full time for my career switch (to software from finance), or if i should start looking for another job and keep doing school part time (which would take 4-5 years vs ~1.5-2 years)
Leaning towards school full time :X

Honestly in software the difference between a 2nd bachelors and a masters is pretty much non-existent, so I'd just go with whatever makes more sense with your current situation. If you have the money to be a full-time student and have the CS fundamentals down I'd go the masters route to be honest.

Already in a masters program, so that decision was made. Honestly wasn't much of a difference in terms of time spent to get degree (bachelors would take longer in some circumstances), so that was a big factor for me. I'm losing my job at end of July, so I'm kind of at a critical decision point; look for a new job in finance which i'll likely hate, or just knock the degree out and get a part time job or something.

Comeh - I think you can get some value out of having a masters with initial offers at larger companies which might just offer a flat higher salary for a masters degree, but that in the long run that probably doesn't impact your career earnings ~that much~ so it's probably correct to optimize for what you think will best prepare you for the job / interviews? idk
also, I just got an amplifi router to replace my like 8-year-old mac time capsule and it is pretty funny how much faster my internet is lol. Also I renamed my wifi to be "(Borat voice) my Wifi"

based on my experiences applying to jobs now with a masters vs last year with just my bachelors the masters just gets you a higher salary floor but not too much different in terms of trajectories after that. so if you can do the masters + bachelors together in that's pretty reasonable

ive tried uninstalling sc2 through windows, it wouldnt let me, so i uninstalled battlenet but it wont let me reinstall it now X_X

Btw guys i finally got my degree today (i graduated) after who-knows-how-long of juggling work-depression-school. Aaaaand i'm never going back to school again.
And apparently i'm on the process of becoming a casual from a contractual for the government agency i am working for atm (tho it the same position but i have higher salary, better benefits and well i no longer work under renewal of contract).
Lots of good stuff happening toe me lately(even some personal stuff i've been waiting for a long time).
Kinda weird that i still feel off and a sense of impending doom for the future.

Tbh even here they'll value someone who actually coding experience(especially industry work not just coding experience itself) than somebody with a masters degree even when they haven't even gotten a bachelors degree(i know somebody who always gets hired over everybody because she had the experience and well the reputation for it even tho she dropped out of college). Also i probably count as i worked loooong time before i got my degree(which is just today).
