The worst thing you can do is never learning to last hit because you're scared of doing poorly. Everyone in the low skill bracket playing games is just as bad are you are so relatively you aren't that bad.

What's up with new players automatically going to play support, I've heard some people say it is good, but personally i think it is a horrible idea.
Imagine crystal maiden, the epitome of a support hero being played by a new player.
You get out of position, you die because you are one of the slowest, squishiest heroes in the game. You have a bad attack animation, are new and don't know how to last hit, and get no gold. You have no gold and no items so you feed. You think it's ok to feed and have no gold because "but but but i'm a support hero guys, I'm supposed to do this"
I'd much rather have a new player playing a hero like tidehunter so I could tell them "ok, just go in and hit ravage, and you probably won't die because you are one of the tankiest heroes in the game"
I really think all of this new focus on what ROLE are you is really bad for people who are learning in general.
You don't learn a role, you learn a hero.
Crystal maiden and chen are both support heroes, just because you play cm, doesn't mean you have any idea how to play chen.
I think if you want to learn the game you should focus on learning heroes that you enjoy playing regardless of their role, because the whole idea of roles means nothing when it comes to knowing how to play a hero or not.

Maybe you are right . Probaly it's just me though, I usually don't like having in my team heroes like Spectre because they just need too much farm and are useless without it. AM and Morph are borderline for me because AM has mana drain and Morph has a nice nuke, but Spectre doesn't have skills like these and she doesn't add much to the team during teamfights.

Desolate actually does a LOT of damage midgame if you max it second.
The main reason Spectre loses pub games is because people assume the Radiance->farm to 2nd or 3rd major item build is the only way to play her. She's played in competitive games that way because it's safe and reliable. But safe and reliable isn't what wins pubs, so there's not actually much reason to play Radiance-first builds over immediate teamfight items in pubs.

Nah fuck maxing desolate... you wana chase people in team fight. Just go phase + vanguard, may be add in a drum if you like movespeed or rush straight to diffisual. Spec is a sick carry to rape pub simply bc she is pretty damn hard to kill if you know how to play her. Into mid game you can easily take up to 2-3 people alone and late game its impossible to kill.
So i am trying to improve my Undying using a very simple concept: effective HP. Since the amount of healing return using his spell combination are flat, it would be much better to stack magic res + armor before stacking HP. The problem is there is no cheap way to stack up magic res + armor while maintain enough mana to be effective in team fight. Thought?

That is not what i am saying, i am saying don't farm for 40 minutes when you don't get 7cs+. It is much better to new players only farm when there is nothing else to do.

Is there anything sadder than playing as an Alchy vs a Lycan (a hand of midas lycan who gets fb no less)?

If you want to get better at last hitting, make a practice game and last hit for the first 10 minutes. Repeat this until you can hit at least 60 cs by 10 mins every single game, preferably higher though obviously.

I actually really like playing alchemist recently. Max stun rush blink dagger and you got yourself a sick sick sick ganker. Late game get necro 3 + eul and you are pretty much a pudge more or less.

Dazzles uses the same principle. (semi-joking, he doesn't need an aghs but his ult is the best way to get armor like you're speaking of).
If you want the cheap ways to get +armor along with utility, Vlad's gives the +5 armor aura to your team (blah blah pub vlads), a blademail gives you some mana, good active, 5 armor. Mek offers 5 armor with a +2 active armor +250 hp heal, +5 stats. Keep in mind that AC doesn't stack with Vlad's. Medallion offers you a really nice amount of armor and mana regen for very cheap. There's also veil but that's just silly to get as an early item.
Shiva's is really going to be the best but it's all about the timing you're trying to hit here. A straight platemail and cloak is gonna run 1950 and be cheaper than all the above alternatives and give more armor/magic resistance and be able to be built into Shivas + Pipe. It's just if you can save up the 1400 for the platemail in the duration. If you're trying to maximize EHP and not care about passive regen then you can skip the hood and go straight for the shiva's... but that requires the ability to save up 2700 gold.
Theorycrafting here. Maxing EHP - normal boots ->medallion -> cloak->platemail (at this point you have +16 armor(96% ehp increase) and +15% magic resist for 2900, 3400 counting the boots) -> shiva's (adds 5 armor)-> pipe.
Yeah people get medallion for the active but the recipe makes it give you +1 armor and it's remarkably efficient in regards to how much space it takes up for those stats and nothing ever requires you to use that active. If this and wand don't give you enough mana regen then experiment with arcane boots or something.

TS was a pretty common abbrevation when i played wc3 dota and it was used more often imo than lesh. 90/90 3.16 left, what have i done in my life

missed 5: chen, lion, doom, tiny and clinkz. For the last 3 I tried their unit name from the wc3 campaigns and wondered why it wouldn't accept them. Turns out they were slightly different .
Btw how do you pronounce Strygwyr? I think I never got it right.
