all you learn from playing her is how to last hit, besides that she teaches you nothing really. If you want to learn how to play an effective carry then pick morph.
I dont understand what the returns on any investment in pa are. She teaches me to watch carefully for when disables are used because I am fucked if I don't, for example. Another example would be to watch for when my opponents are preoccupied with someone else and using that time to strike, and so on. Optimizing farm is a very important thing to me as well because I'm going to be playing only hardcarries(Maybe something lighter in certain teamcomps). Also she'll probably be buffed next patch ^-^
You don't have to defend yourself. What you're doing is fine if you're having fun and learning with it.

Realistically playing hard carry is the worst role for learning about the game because it's least involved with the game flow and has the lowest teamfight involvement of any role.

If he first picks it, why? As long as he doesn't wait for the other 4 people to pick AM + morphling + syllabear then decide to pick a hard carry himself, it's fine.

Very well said. All of the new friends that i've introduced to dota i've had them play like lich or sven...easy support heroes that can win lanes easily and roam / gank easily. That is probably the best way to help people learn in my experience.

Playing only carries is bad for getting into the game, IMHO.
If you don't play and try out all roles quite a bit and give them a serious try, you'll have trouble knowing how it's like for the rest of your team.
Regardless, if you're having fun that's cool, and why would PA be buffed next patch? Her problems require a rework, not a buff, IMO.

Nah, she has decent way to farm/lane, decent steroid skills and decent excape mech (slow + blink). She just need a slight rescale (something like +10 base damage and lower agi gain).

Not really, her problem isn't numbers, it's her kit.
Normally carries lategame also have a way to survive in fights, she does not. Her only surviveability is negated by the enemy carry getting an already amazing item.
I personally feel that her only real surviveability being an evasion is a hindrance.
And honestly blink strike isn't really a very good escape mechanism since it isn't reliable, sometimes it might be able to help you escape, other times it wont be a help at all.
I personally believe that having reliable abilities is one of the best things a hero can have.

Hardcarry for a (semi-)competitive team, solo queue's not the aim.
Also it's not afk farming, say this game I was forced to solo mid with PA(without courier), so I just beat the pudge at mid and farmed the lane while calling misses, then after I miraculously finished my perseverence and phase boots around 10min I ganked lanes etc, I think before my battle fury was finished I was 2-1-10 despite our team losing in kills.
I never play afk farm with PA I don't get why people ... Well whatever, I guess it's pubs yeah but

You don't get battlefury to gank, you get battlefury to farm. Stop playing only carries, it's not a good way to learn the game, even if you're intending to do nothing but play in the carry position for a team.

Randoming every game is an amazing way to learn how to play, imho.
And yea, getting a BF and then farming like crazy isn't stupid, ignoring your team if they need you obviously is though.

I am pretty sure that i have never seen you play anything else than carry a year ago, and at that time you didn't even knew anyother hero than AM(i mean literally you had no clue who bara is), so which point in time was "a way back"
