http://www.gosugamers.net/dota2/news/20788-xboct-it-is-a-total-disaster
oh dear
"It is total disaster."
"We always have good relations within the team. After games, everything goes back to normal and everyone is good with one another. During the games, however, there is total chaos. Everyone is misunderstanding one another. I'm giving you some inside information though, but it is because everyone is tired of the situation."
But there may be a glimmer of hope, as suggested by XBOCT three days ago. "Just recently, things have started to go better. We only have three days left and if we don't return to good conditions, then top eight will probably be the best result we can hope for."

So it is a plot by Navi to make everyone think they suck, or do they really struggle?
|
both... what ever navi is struggling with, they still have the most raw talented individuals at their respective role. I bet they could still get top 8 without voice communication :-/...
But i am thinking about buying iG flag tbh. Their current performance is just blazingly strong and rumors have it: Chinese could do even better on LAN.
|
why are you thinking about these flags as some sort of ROI thing, just get it from the team you like and want to support or just get them all if you want to get mass items

Would definitely not read too much into that XBOCT interview ;p

I wonder how the casting will go for TI2. There's gonna be a shit ton of people tuning in who have probably never played the game, but god knows how elitist the dota2 community can be when it comes to stuff like this.

Hopefully different casters for different levels. As in Valve will advertise certain casters as entry level, medium and high. Then just have Tobi and whoever is co casting with him as the overall one.

I think tobi said in that interview with that one guy, that there is simply no times during games to explain anything to newbies.
But maybe purge will do something like that, as he is the only one without a role, unlikely that he will solo cast and he is not host

Don't even think you need a medium, if you've played like 50 games you'll be able to keep up with a high level caster's insights or at least be able to make the connections.

I already know the way around the pro scene so i dont really have a favorite team that i wana blindly cheer for... But i like to predict which team has the strongest chance to win 1 mil and i wana support my prediction. Its also convenience that the flag drop item for winner's fans
edit: about the casting: no. they will not all cast at the same time but alternate to save their voice. The final will be tobi+partner casting only(via spec client) ofc and im not sure if other caster wana just watch the final or cast it via their personal stream. Most likely they will just watch and enjoy so valve could monetize the stream number though.

in occasions like this, i wouldn't mind AT ALL newbies getting interest in the tournament. i myself would explain them how and why each thing works that way, just to make more people partecipate into what i believe is the most interesting multiplayer game on the market.

Played OD for the first time and man, it can be quite fun. At least, it can wr3eck heroes. First time using it and first ult gets three kills, I was happy.
I do have a question, does anyone have advice for nyx? I've been trying to play him and having such difficulties. I go mid lane and the other team always manages to shut me down. Always feel like I am behind. Some games I do alright but other games, I just feel like a hindrance; just can't get the feel for the hero down.

Your quota should be 1 kill everytime your ulti finish cooldown. Manage your mana carefully, resist from using spells for last hit else you wont be able to use your full combo when your ulti finish cooldown. If you are new try maxing Q, 1 point in W and E and then get a bunch of stats points, it will keep you up on mana while not reducing your damage output.
Choose your target wisely: squishy high int supports are free foods(KoTL, CM, WD, etc...). Dont think of dagon as a core item if you cant farm mid well enough. If that is the case simply gank with your teammate helpinsteadof solo ganking to ensure kill.
The later the game go, the worst NA scale so try to earn as much kill as possible before 25 mins mark. Your main money source should be from killing but last hitting creeps.
Those are basic tips, advance tips cost extra.

I keep reading things about Zenith being BM but I just don't see it. They're confident and somewhat troll but they've become far more refined and mannered. Enjoying trolling people isn't really a sign of being BM.
The first game of Hyhy I ever saw involved a pair of fake 5-man ggs into almost comeback in 2007, so yeah, those SG boys have come a long way.

For some crazy reason, I feel that that line goes to iG.

Going all mid and feeding and then just leaving. Getting a standin with the name islaygays. Generally trashtalking other teams. Dropping out of several tournaments after having agreed to play them.
I can see the appeal to the younger audience that think that kind of dumb behaviour is cool.

Its quite hard to ever bm in dota1 really. The system was basicly you training inside a circle of people. The more bm you are, the more likely they will kick you out one way or the other. No matter what system, what host existed in dota1, thats has always been the case from semi-pro to pro level teams. You are limited due to internet ping and sever capacity so your training partner are often can only be counted on 1 hand fingers. Yes there were a lot of trolling back and fort but those are mostly consist of insight jokes and often mistaken for bm.... I was a VNB(pre Garena VietNam) moderator and our circle has been mostly posting hentai and erotic albums on the forum just to troll the admins. Those types of behaviors are often unacceptable from a social point of view but from the inside of the circles they were just fun time :-/
Dota2 changed things around a lot. A public match making system with reward make people lazy at making custom games and filter out people they dont wana play with. Thats why, imo, bm starting to spread just like any other established online games.
not banning hero is a legit strategy btw.... watch CLG vs iG on beyondthesubmit final... I have been giving a lot of thinking about that lately. If you dont ban heroes, the favor often shift into the team with 2nd pick rather than 1st pick simply bc you can get a combo from very early on (Darkseer enigma anyone?).
