In short: Mass gaming and thinking about your mistakes DURING the games(you have the time and info to do so in dota as opposed to sc2)

In SC2 it's basically watch replays from better players, watch my own replays or at least understand what caused me to lose/become aware of my flaws and work on it, and play a ton. What about dota? Is it the same? If yes, where do I find replays from the best players? you need experience. You need to die to each situation, each heroes a thousand times just to learn and fixing your nature habit. Watching dendi imo never helps. You need to choose on 'what to watch' and doing that requiring you to understand what is good and what is bad. This is why russian dota is so broken simply bc in their system, they thought having kills is the only way to win at computergames. They will watch dendi get dagon 5 on puck and copy it blindly without knowing/caring about the basic information. My suggestion is watching singsing and keep in mind on his camera and mouse movement as well as his hero positioning. you need to time these with the clock: every 2 mins you need to check rune, every 40 second you want to be ready to stack a neutral camp at 51 (demon does this all the time lol), whats the pull timing, whats the obs wards expiring timing. And most important of all: What items enemy have, unlike LoL, you actually need to click on the enemy hero to see what do they have in their pocket and this is a crucial skill to have. An enigma/sk with dagger or just simply a mek should affect your decision making a lot. Overall: play more.

Most of the time SingSing does random stuff, he admitted that most of the builds that he does during his stream are bad.

Also I can't remember Furions on competitive games who don't go for Midas(even a late Midas, like Meka>Midas, or a 11-15min Midas even). I almost always see it these days.

I haven't watched a lot of Blitz' stream, but I watched him for a little more than an hour today, and to be honest he made a lot (considering the fact that he is a pro player) of weird/stupid choices, imo. It might have been the fact that he had been up all night I guess, I dunno. But he made weird choices, and I'm not talking about trolling choices like Dendi or Singsing. However I have watched him stream other times where he was a lot better, so I guess it was just the no-sleep factor. I, for one, rate Synderens and Dendis streams above his for education.
