I love supporting a terror blade, because I know that all I need to do is keep him alive and get him farm. And treant + terror blade is an amazing lane combo. Literally unkillable.

The balance of terrorblade is a hot mess, but when your supporting in pubs, you take what you can get. I will take a terrorblade over some shitbox ursa.

Channeling life drain was meh, non-channeling drain was pretty dumb but I don't think it lasted too long.

There was one build where you could get the channeling one and use it to jungle from level 1. It actually worked reasonably well.

I think most people jungled TB at that time, and people kept jungling him even after he lost what made him good at it.

I really hope he means that Cent is a bit weaker, because he's definitely far from being a bad hero. He's actually a really fucking good hero even after the nerf.

There are tons of good options (after the non-negotiable Tranqs->Blink->Stick). Hood->Pipe, BKB, Heart, Blademail, Force Staff (which I see being done a lot but am not good enough to use properly)... hell, even Mek, Shiva's, AC. Halberd too, of course. Such a flexible, strong hero that offers a ton to your team.
