Like sure, I'll admit I like a nice wheat beer once in a while. But I don't drink beer for the taste. I drink beer for the speed in which you get drunk for how much you have drink. That's what Vodka is for. And if Russian, you play dota next. Why does everyone thing "the speed" means "it's fast".
And I don't drink much Vodka after I went to the hospital for alcohol poisoning. Fancy smooth Vodka is deceptively alcoholic.

Depends on the quantity you're drinking, I mean it can still be "socially practical" even if you only take a sippy every once in a while. People don't assume you're "homosexual" for drinking wine anymore, not in Sweden I mean.
EDIT: Not even in most European countries. Or at all.

And I'm Swedish, I know many people who would think it's weird.
It's not socially practical to sip Vodka. I don't even know how people are arguing this. Beer is drank because it's practical, it's not because it's the tastiest.

Drinking wine used to be a gay thing? For here, it was considered more of an adult / snobby thing. Now i'm in my 20's, its pretty normal (though no one is going to get TRASHED on wine unless they were just broken up with and watching 3 romantic comedies with their cats)

Drinking wine at a bar is. Or even if it isn't seen as a gay thing, it is seen as unusual, because almost no one does it except women.
If you're having dinner or if you're at home it's perfectly normal.
I mean even when I was in college I remember just buying 6 bottles of wine and drinking in dorms. But that's not the same as having a wine glass in a bar, that's highly unusual for a man here.

You are better off having a "girly drink" then having wine at a bar here, unless you are roughly 50+ years old.
Its probably okay then.

Well if I grow my beard I might look about 50+ so I guess I can start drinking wine in bars then.

yeah going to the bar with friends and ordering wine would be a little weird. but ordering it with food or picking up some cheap bottles at a liquor store would be heteronormative as fuck

Would you believe I grew up in the middle-east and went to American schools for 10 years and never been to America?
Well if you come to England you can sleep on my floor. Or if you meet my standards you can sleep in my queen sized bed (queen/king is a weird English measurement system we don't have in Sweden, queen sized is like 1.5 standard bed)

In London. If you pay for airfare that doesn't go through Ukraine, I'm good :p
P.S. I've yet to try beer. I just find it weird. Coffee-man right here.

The thing is, when it comes to something like leaving the country when you never did it in your childhood, you just need to do it.
And England would be easy for you, because at least they speak a language you understand (for the most part, some parts of England speak fucking nonsense). I grew up in countries where no one spoke English, and it was fucking hell.
