Never played 7, but 9 doesn't stand out for me whatsoever and 10 is my top 3 in Final Fantasy (I like FF4 -- The one with Cecil). 12 fucking blows and should burn | ||

FF9 is king as far as a Final Fantasy game actually having combat goes. I'm talking optimized combat here since FF9 actually requires you to think about stuff as opposed to spamming the same 1-2 spells over and over again. Admittedly people can make a case for Charge! but it promotes a very high risk high reward game play which I personally enjoy in video games so I let it slide (plus its really only good on the final boss gauntlet) Plus the story is actually decent as well (Vivi's death ) | ||

It's so dumb and Japanese in the worst ways possible. And the combat is super weird and passively it kinda hurts. And them there is Persona 4, the superior JRPG, with better combat and systems, likable characters and Japanese in all the right ways. | ||
