Welp, phoenix discussion wasn't on this page, sorry. Couldn't they work around the bug by just applying like a .01s disarm to reset the attack animation manually once the debuffs of the worst offenders wear off (untouchable and fire spirits)? Absolutely not since much of the time that would cancel an attack that wouldn't necessarily want to be cancelled. You might be almost done the (very slow) animation and have it cancelled on you for no reason.

It's only not game breaking because there isn't any point in right clicking Enchantress anyways. She dies to a stiff breeze if she's in the open. It only is more of an issue on Phoenix because he can't be nuked down most of the time and you have to auto attack his ult (which is when you'd really notice it).
EDIT: Also because it's not just attacking him that triggers the bug, but anyone at all while under the effect of spirits.

Well only in cases where your current attack has less time to finish than a follow-up attack at full attackspeed. I think it'd work fine at really slow attack speeds where you're likely to get the hit in faster by resetting it, but at a high attack speed it'd be a hurt to DPS. You could also balance around it with something like that though. i.e. make spirits a 3.5s attack speed slow with a .01s disarm which would probably work out to be pretty close to a 4s slow in most applications.
(it wouldn't work for untouchable as I realized after posting, but maybe fire spirits?)
Anyways for say fire spirits is it really that bad or will most pros just cancel the attack animation when the debuff wears off and restart it manually to avoid most of the issue?

its basically the reason phoenix is as op as he is

I meant the enchantress one
Which should be easy as hell to fix since as soon as u attack another target ur starting another attack so there's no reason for the engine not to figure out that ur attackspeed is back to normal at the START of that attack.

Ah yeah, it wouldn't work at all for enchantress' untouchable, but people seem to be living with that one fine for now at least.

Just tested in a private lobby btw.
Canceling the attack doesn't do anything. You're still not able to attack until the 'cooldown' of your last attack finishes. Even if you don't even get off the attack and cancel in mid animation. Starting up the animation at all during the buff (Untouchable or Fire Spirits) causes the attack cooldown to trigger.
EDIT: Or I'm an idiot and didn't do it right.... but regardless if you complete an attack you have the attack cooldown trigger and can't do anything to change it.

When a unit under the player's control dies, you no longer immediately deselect it and return control to the Hero unit
Thank god.
