Well there's no official source for anything like that, but the fact that such a widely-demanded hero hasn't been added says a bit about what valve thinks of the hero atm. It certainly isn't like the hero would be hard to add.
So it's made up, but not necessarily that wrong.

Must be fun playing OD/Viper in Dota 2 and get blown up by land mines suddenly.

Wait did he never fix that in Dota 1?

IIRC they still just fly over them but I haven't played Dota 1 in ages.

Does puck or storm spirit snowball harder?
I said puck, friend said storm. Opinions?

i honestly feel like ive never won a game where the enemy puck got a 9 minute blink dagger or quicker though. the nonstop blink ganks are brutal

Storm is a lot harder to execute in terms of a burst-gank where you take somebody from 100->0 and get out. Thats probably why.
I mean, puck has an absurd skill ceiling but that's mostly in the escapes etc that he can pull off. His damage combo with a blink is trivial to execute which is probably why it gets you so much.

edit: yes i am the defiler with the imba swarm now!!! next hero must be Zet because he has a spell similar to swarm. God help us all. Was about to say, people are whining about Naga and Lycan now, but just wait.

Storm can do everything Puck can in the early/mid game (maybe more). And he carries so much harder than Puck late game.

Think if puck goes dagon instead of blink he can do well midgame but still not as useful late. Nature of puck's AoE stuff.

Both can make the same impact at those stages.

Ummm you don't got dagon instead of blink, you go dagon after blink.
Blink on puck is utterly non-negotiable.
@Emu: puck does much better in team engagements, even with much less farm. Where's that youtube vid on reddit of bone7 hitting a 5-man coil/silence/orb combo at his top tower as radiant? sure that didn't even achieve anything but it was so much more than a storm could ever do there.
|
Blink -> Dagon puck snowballs pretty damn hard. Obviously storm is a carry in a way puck isn't so past 15-20 min or so a fed storm is going to be scarier. But before then I'd fear a fed puck way more. A lvl11 puck who out levels everyone else on the opposing team is not just a solo kill threat but he also rapes any teamfight, while being great at initiating them.
*Also totally ninjad the above post =p

Puck's a weaker solo killer compared to storm though even with a level 1 dagon since at that point you are comparing to storm with an orchid.
|
theres tradeoffs lol storms laning is way weaker then pucks and more vulnerable storm snowballs harder cuz you can always 100-0 someone 1v1 when puck wont at some point if you didnt get dagon but landing 3-5 man silence dream coil in 5v5 is so big
|
Puck requires your team to follow up and pay attention when you go for the coil. If your team is on the ball, sweet. If not, play storm, because he doesn't always need the follow up.
|
dagon first isn't that bad on puck obviously it's worse for teamfights but it makes you really good at solo killing
