I don't think so, at least not for the next 10 years or so. To enforce a contract like this there has to be someone in the market with big market power, but most esports are fragmented into countless little competing companies all trying to grab their share. These companies are most likely even interested in promoting other games as well. With riot it is possible because they are the only supplier of esport in the west for league and at the same time directly pay the players. If we compare that to I.e. dota no one even comes close. Even valve couldn't do it unless they want to fight against all the tournament hosters who keep the scene alive all year.
The only way I see this happening at other esports is if the company behind the game is doing esports on its own (the riot model), or if game specific a parent organization is founded who somehow gets so powerful that the competing companies lose all power.. I find that highly unlikely

Omg reddit is eating this riot contract shit up. Slasher is like a pig in shit right now, rolling around in the drama, soaking it into his pores.

Well, at least LoL players will be able to play Blizzard Dota/Blizzard All Stars/Heroes of the Storm, since it isn't one of the banned franchises. For some reason.

Is it even coming out in the next year? Easy enough to add to next years list.

Title likely wasn't known or out when the contract was drafted. Courts don't like you prohibiting things that may exist during the length of the contract.

QTpie on riot contract: "Riot can suck my dick" - QTPie stream 2013, while playing FF X
good time to break some rules + Show Spoiler +
Apparently I am under this too, and I do not even play in the LCS I will be removed from the list of featured streamers if I stream any of those games, and they didn't even send me the list, they just quietly removed me (I begged for mercy and got back on)

The only thing that doesn't make sense about the list to me is the lack of CS:GO.

For example the entire LCS system relegating non-Riot tournaments to second-class status caused the falling out between Riot and MLG which opened a slot for DotA 2. Were it not for that, we wouldn't have had one of the best DotA 2 LAN events of all time.

You know the real victim here is the players... Now they have to look at that god-awful client in between matches, not a secondary game

Its like MLB putting it in player contracts that they can't be seen playing soccer or some shit.
Some sportsmen do have that in their contracts. No dangerous outside activities like winter sports etc It's not universal, but some big stars do have it in their contracts because if they break a leg jetsking while goofing off, the team lose some of that investment they made in the player, by having them not able to compete/rep sponsers etc

Nah, they can play games on another monitor. It's the viewers that have to stare at the screen/ads while the caster is playing a game they cannot even see.

They could just read I book, I hear those are ok. They could discuss the good parts with their viewers.

it's more like a NBA player not allowed to be seen in the stands of a stadium for some fictional rival basketball league.
