Early game the -mres effect is a lot more relevant, late game the -armor is a lot more relevant. If you don't have nukes to take advantage of the -mres getting levels in it early doesn't accomplish much in terms of your overall teamfight damage.

What was the game recently with DK vs .. someone. Other team had a 6 slotted PL and an ET up against weaver with a desolator and someone with an ac. Dark seer vacuums and gets an illusion of ET and the pl who had.. 30-35ish armor went to -12 and instantly died, was almost shocking to see.. so yeah it's pretty good lol

DK vs VG game 2 in the WPC league. That was such a great game.

yeah, that was the game that cemented Natural Order as "this is retardedly OP" for me 
saw a game the otherday, can't remember who - one team firstpicked ET, so the other team pretty much went out of their way to get a carry that wasn't AGI (ended up picking Gyro anyhow)

Why do people buy QB as part of their starting items? Can't think of a reason why this is ideal to buy compared to more regen/stat items/stout, etc. or even just flat out saving for a better item.
I know it's to help last hitting but still. I can't seem to justify it whenever I get a melee carry. I rather save the gold for consumables or midas rush.

If you're in a relative free farm lane (like vs a weak offlaner) then stout shield isn't necessary so you can get QB instead. Some carries also have abysmal base damage that make last hitting under tower absolutely miserable even if you have amazing mechanics so there's that.

I just wanna post this so if anyone is having trouble with this problem they have a quick fix.
Last thursday update screwed with my dota2, i was logging into the game and i could"t see any banner or image, it was all cef error 138 (if you are having this problem keep reading). So you can't see images and while you can queue up you will never be able to connect to the match even if you find it. This problem is caused by your antivirus that forces your firewall to block the connection you receive from the valve server. This is why you can launch dota 2 but any information sent by valve server are blocked completely. From my research this is caused by a false positive from your antivirus ( without going into too much technical, your antivirus thinks the valve servers havee some malware in them that could cause problem and blocks everything, in this case your antivirus is wrong and assign a false positive). This seems to happen alot if you are using Norton, but other antivirus sometimes have this error also.
What to do: Open your antivirus, somewere their will be an option to add a folder of exemption to not scan, i suggest puttting the entire steam folder that is probably under program file x86 steam. After that you have to find the part were your program stores the files that are restricted to your system. When you find this list scroll down there will be one that is called steamapp dota 2 bete exe. or something like that. Allow it to keep operating.
Hope this help simple google searchs lead u to alot of forums were people are having this problem but no one has any solution expect reinstalling and validating file integrity, which both dont work. I should probably go post this onto the dev forums.

I have avast! free antivirus. I did hear a problem regarding this specific one that is similar to what you said... I wonder if I should get a different program.

Spec's damage is actually so low that a QB actually muddles lasthitting under tower.
At ~68 damage tower last-hits are 50-50 between being able to last-hit the melee creep exactly after 5 tower shots, and needing to hit it once before then. This is the damage number where tower last-hits are most muddled and where a QB is most helpful. If your damage is a lot lower than that, then you can usually safely hit the creep once, and still be able to get the tower last-hit. If your damage is a lot higher, then you can just last-hit the creep after 5 tower shots. If you're close to 68 damage, then you're in the range where your random damage or the tower's random damage could fuck things up a lot of the time.
A QB adds just enough damage to make Spectre's damage go to ~66 at level 1. So amusingly buying a QB at level 1 arguably makes last-hitting under tower harder for Spectre rather than easier.
EDIT: this is also why you'll sometimes see higher-level carry players help tower last-hitting by dropping their QB to hit the creep once, then picking it back up.
