I ve this problem with prophet, my friends call np always prophet, and in my mind I always think of death prophet. So when they are like, yeah cool I ll go offlane with prophet then, I always think like, wow nice, today we are bit more experimental, later in the discussion I throw in that it indeed might be better to give prohpet mid and then comes the disspointment that they were talking about furion all along

Man they totally ruined armlet. I'm even afraid of toggling while fighting creeps now, because if you click it too fast, it doesn't reactivate.
I'm all for making scripts etc not working, but they totally ruined my regular usage speed with the new change, and it nearly gets me killed.

Again, the speed at which you can do it now is about the speed you could do it in WC3 (somewhat dependent on your ping--lower ping could toggle faster). And it had the same behavior for toggling too fast (the reactivate command gets tossed out if the server hasn't registered that your armlet is inactive yet).

To be fair, Assassin is kind of a job description. All those heroes do indeed successfully assassinate things. Complaining about that is like complaining about the three spirits.

Does shift-clicking the armlet work now? Because if it doesn't that would be a shame. I thought that was pretty hard to do in a hurry and should be rewarded if someone manages to pull it off at the right time.

No, and you're not supposed to be able to.
It's not a matter of "how hard it is to do"--it's that the item was never balanced around being able to toggle through DoTs that tick every 0.1s reliably.
Basically the absolute fastest toggle speed you could achieve in WC3 on single-player and using an external macro (e.g. AutoHotKey) was found to be about 0.07s, and realistically for most people the behavior would be identical to what the current behavior is in DotA 2 (can toggle in ~0.1-0.2s). Whereas in DotA 2, aliases/shift-queueing/etc. could toggle as fast as 0.02s.

Surprisingly not because in my experience most people say "Brood" for Broodmother and BM usually refers to Beastmaster. And frankly I don't see a lot of them in my games anyway.
SK is easily the worst to me because you can and do see them both semi-frequently and sometimes on the same team. X-(
