Be nice, all of us were like this at some point. Just for some of us it's been so long since we were that new to DotA that we've forgotten. With Yasha based do you also mean drums? I always thought drums and other % ms does not stack and that was the reason I didn´t like it on heroes like pl or gyro where I would go for a manta style later on because I thought the drums 5 % where wasted. Is that not the case?

I guess I can't farm very well yet so supports with a lot of bursts or good disables for me. Mek holders, ranged preferably. I literally recommend Lina to everyone starting to play or starting to play again and wanting to practice. She has a bit of everything. - She can play virtually any position anywhere. You can play her as a ganker, as a ward-bitch support, a mek-holding support, she can semi-carry if she gets some farm; you can put her mid or safelane or offlane with care. - Ranged and with an awful attack animation. This is good for learning because if you can get comfortable last hitting with Lina you should be able to last hit with just about anything. Being thrown in at the deep end forces you to learn very quickly. - Variety of abilities. One AoE nuke, one AoE stun that requires practice timing and aiming, one single-target super nuke, plus a passive that interacts with her active abilities. With care you can use her stun as a mini-initiation ability (not as good as something like RP or Ravage but its got a decent little area of effect). Basically just gives a nice broad range of things to practice and play with all in one fiery redheaded package. And yes I'm aware of how I'm sounding now. X-D

If you have both maelstrom and basher, which has a higher priority to proc?

I've been pretty okay on Lion which I think does similarly to Lina minus the creep clearing ability. So I guess I'll try Lina soon. Thank you! Also, you're almost at a 1000 posts! GJ!

Thank you! Also, you're almost at a 1000 posts! GJ! Lion is good, I like using him as a support but he's a little..."too good" for learning, I guess, in my opinion anyway. With a damaging stun, a disable and an absurdly good nuke he's got a lot of power there and his other ability makes managing your mana pool quite trivial. Its a bit like Lich in that respect. A lot of people recommend learning on Lich but I'm not a fan. His ability to deny creeps and regain mana teaches bad habits about controlling a lane and managing your mana. And in a teamfight literally all you need to do is press R from a distance onto the enemy in the middle of the pack and you're basically done with your effectiveness. Oh sure you can hit your other abilities but most of it comes from that one big ult which means you're not forced to really learn how to teamfight properly either.

I just think they're good heroes because you can make "big plays" (or thats what you're thinking you're doing anyway) even if you're completely new to dota. Man i felt like such a badass zapping people with finger of death and laguna blade. Pew pew. They probably had very little idea what they were facing (like me) but it was sure fun anyway. My third hero (think it was Leshrac) felt so boring in comparison! I tended to mix up a lot, trying different stuff, but broadly speaking my first few heroes in terms of playing them semi-regular went something like: Lina > Lanaya > Windrunner After that it basically became totally inconsistent and just playing anything. My very first two games were Mirana and then Luna, then I picked Lina for the first time and went 15/6/10 and, despite the game being a loss, I went "YEP I LIKE THIS ONE". Seventh game ever was Lone Druid...that went about as well as you'd expect. >_>

That said I certainly think he's a boring hero to play after two or three games of that, and newbies should quickly switch to other more engaging heroes such as Lion/Lina/etc.

Maybe I'm getting too slow or just because, everything is so shiny. Before I could go Eul's on Shadow Shaman, ward trap the hero and if my 6 charges run out, I can upgrade it into a Ginsoo's. Now, I can't seem to ward trap heroes. Use shackle -> shift queue wards = perfect ward trap.
