And no, there is no reason why a 5v5 game should have significantly more imbalanced matchups. The outcomes of games are surely more random in DotA, but as number of games increases your winrate will still converge (and much more rapidly so if you actually pick heroes instead of randoming or picking trash out of sync heroes.) It is completely evident that every player that is actually known to be good, through amateur or pro team games has above 50 % winrate, and while that of course doesn't mean that you cannot be good if you're worse than that, it still shows that high winrates are to be expected of good players.

Except you don't face only Grandmasters even on SC2, and in a 5v5 game where you don't always play the same hero the games should be more "random" and the range it searches for matches should be higher.

The last games sing played were with Tobi Wan Kenobi. He might face them, but they will be 1 in 200 (and I do not think I am exagerrating.) Sure it can happen, but it is an anomaly. It's like getting grandmasters in SC2 by winning 48 % of games. It's possible if you have an extremely odd pattern of winning, but fucking hell is it unlikely.

Last game Sing played on the Dotabuff account I found already has a sub 50% player. There's also a lot of people around 50%. It's not that common, but considering the guy only has 300 games, the uncertainty on his rank should still be reasonably high. I seriously doubt he never faces people with sub 50%.

Sing will not meet sub 50 % winrate players unless he stacks with noob friends (like Tobi.) There's only like 1 guy in the top MMR who has such trashcan MMR, and he has a gazillion games played. Try looking through sings matches on dotabuff, he just isn't facing people with such winrates. I'm sure it is theoretically possible to have high MMR if you play a ton of games and have 48 % winrate, but if you see an account with less than 50 % winrate it is still pretty safe to assume the player isn't very good.

I seriously don't understand the logic behind this. Around 50% winrate is common in MMR systems. He is like 1% below it. Win rates can depend on how you stack or how you pick heroes. But how exactly is every that plays at the MMR range Sing does supposed to be at a high winrate? It just doesn't add up, a team wins, the other loses. Sure, it's not exactly a closed system, but you won't get a matchmaking system where a top player queues exclusively with or against people with 60-70% win rates.
I didn't watch the games, but I was under the impression that he wasn't even that bad. He did take a game off Sing. Why are people more concerned about his win rate than his actual skill level?
