Valve made a comment on trying to make the scene more sustainable, so I wonder if they are going to try to establish a similar model. IMO prize pools will never create sustainability, it has to be done through salaries or sponsorships. Valve were talking about selfsustainability of the scene, which means they are giving us all the tools, to make the best out of it, but apart from that the only thing they do is the international.

I think that's the best way, no reason to put all that trust into one entity. It might be alright for LoL because Riot has always had their fingers in everyone's pockets so it's doubtful that they'll just discontinue their investments.

Valve is talking about ways for players to monetize more similarly to the way people sell items. Not just giving people money. Yeah basically Valve is trying to say "If you want your favorite teams to sustain, you have to buy their stuffs to support them, and we want a cut out of it"
I don't really like this Valve idea because it doesn't really encourage new teams. Not only they have to depend on Valve to pump out their items so that they have stuffs to sell, but also it promotes personality, not real talent. A team may be mediocre but as long as they have people like SingSing, Dendi, SyndereN,.... in their team, they will have more support than other teams, such as Chinese teams. Western teams will always have more support than Chinese, SEA teams although the threat of sustainability of all teams are the same.

I was gone yesterday and wasn't sure if the dota documentary was broadcasted at TI3. Could someone link me it if it was?

It was, but not on stream. So no, there is no link to watch it yet. (two months more or so for people who didn't attend).

how does one make the more annoying, louder pings; those which show up as 'X' on map?
EDIT: Thanks!

Firebolt is hogging all the viewers from TI3 - numbers look really unimpressive since they've been split between the two streams.

That's like ... every single sport, or even anything in life really, not sure why esports would be any different, there are sponsors involved in the scene and they prefer likable personalities, as do fans sometimes (even though I wouldn't include Dendi in there, since he is like, really good and all).

Best game of DotA I've ever seen. Coming from WAY BACK to make it three grand finals in a row! GG haters.

This is called pressure. They had good lead but got afraid and actually started playing bad because they knew they could actually go to finals 400k richer. $400k is alot to have on your mind.
Na'vi dug deep and went for it.

Well, in chess they say you never really win a game without your opponent making some mistake. And NaVi made plenty of mistakes. How many times did they get caught out?
