I was waiting for somebody to make a gif of this. It'll never top the Idra/Artosis high-five fail though.

Its not as strong as Gyro and all those other bullshit press ultimate heroes but it does a fine job in pubs. Dusa's ult is a big disengage button. Not instant like Song of the Balanced, but if the other team chooses to fight they will die a horrible death unless they have a massive advantage.

Its actually quite potent offensively with the new buffs. Pre patch it was certainly purely defensive, but now its uses are more varied.

Any potential imbalances here? I think it is offset by the Roash pit and how easy it is for Dire to engage there. Plus their Secret Shop is easier to access as well through tree choppnig. It balances out.

Any potential imbalances here? Imo Radiant beats the crap out of Dire at the moment. Technically ever since the last aggro change that made Dire incapable of pulling the small camp but it's only slowly emerging more and more. Radiant has: -Safelane that can support farm for two supports (this is the biggest one) -Ancient jungling -Hardcamp pull in the offlane Dire has: -Rosh pit "advantage" (can be negated to a certain degree with smokes) -Easier ancient stacking with certain heroes -Easier time dewarding their medium pull The other differences (e.g. midlane) are pretty minor. Basically if there's a situation where both sides defensive trilane, Radiant has a pretty big advantage. If Radiant offensive trilanes Dire they (Radiant) have a bigger advantage than if Dire trilanes Radiant (being able to pull the hardcamp). If both Radiant and Dire offensive trilane Radiant again has the upper hand in the 3n1 (hardcamp pull). Pretty much the only trilaning scenario where Dire comes out alright is a Dire offensive vs Radiant defensive lane. What this means for actual gameplay is that Dire WANTS to be offensive trilaned (because 3n3 there beats having both teams safe trilaning) and/or Dire wants to play junglers to overcome their pretty damn aweful pull. Their other option for Dire is to opt for the offensive trilane themselves. Pretty much anything else seems rather suboptimal because you're just not getting the same out of it compared to Radiant.

It's pretty scary how good Radiant side is. I called midlane "minor" because Dire has a bit easier time controlling runes, access to secret shop (via cutting the tree), small stuff like that. But you're right, that small camp might tilt even that in Radiants favor. On August 09 2013 02:55 TheYango wrote: Evo, you forgot that the Dire jungle layout is somewhat better for a jungler because there's generally less time wasted moving between camps (the Easy+Medium+Hard camp rotation is in a circular layout, whereas rotating any 3 camps not including the pull camp in the Radiant jungle requires you waste a lot more back and forth walking time). Yeah, in practice this makes it even more important for Dire to pick up junglers if they want to stay on their side of the map. We should try out how a Dire jungler compares to a) Radiant jungler+Radiant pull and b) two radiant supports chainpulling all the way to hardcamp. The latter could be super close. It doesn't really help for Dire how weird their chainpull is. T_T

I also would say that the easy access to the easy camp for radiant mid a relatively big deal for a few heroes.

It's funny how things change, a year ago everyone was saying how Dire was clearly better, and that was almost exclusively because of Rosh. Lycan was unbeatable as Dire but you could handle him if he was Radiant. Very little had changed in the map and now Radiant has the advantage. For me, it's more about how the game is played than the map itself. Some patches Dire is ahead, some patches Radiant is ahead but it's close enough not to be a big deal.
