He was like the first pub hero to be nerfed namely because of his domination in pubs. Now that he's pub friendly again, it should pop back up.

Why do I see more balance complaints in SC2 than in DotA 2? I'm not saying that they don't exist here, but they plague almost every sc2 thread consistently.

Because Dota 2 is more similar to a mirror match than SC2.
If something is 'imbalanced' it is still an option given to both teams to either use or ban and thus it doesn't really affect the outcome of the game. No one ever wins in Dota because of imbalance.
When it comes to balance in Dota it's more about making the game more interesting and varied, and not about making it more fair. Ultimately the only things which affect fairness is first/second pick and dire/radiant. The heroes have nothing to do with it.

Pretty sure it's because Dota 2 is more balanced than SC2. Icefrog > Blizzard balance team.

I wonder if the compendium will increase or decrease Dota 2 cosmetic items. On one hand, the compendium was definitely the first ever purchase for many people, so so it might get people "hooked" on buying more things. On the other hand, you get so much stuff for the $10, that other things you can buy don't compare to it at all, so that might discourage people from buying more.

I think anything that makes people who otherwise didn't put money into Dota buy something, will increase the likelyhood of them doing so in the future. I don't think it will affect the cosmetics/key sales at all, but probably increase ticket sales.

I think you can compare dota 2 balance to mirror matchups in sc2/bw. There are some imba stuff but everyone can use it (mutalisk in bw's zvz = TI2 naga siren) and also certain spawn positions might be better in some cases (closer natural on scrap station = dire rosh advantage).
Edit: teapoted too fast

the major reason that i quit sc2 is because of the balance issue. Playing sc2 zerg was slowly killing my heart, while dota1/2 was never perfectly balanced but it is balanced to the point that i am happy with the game (just like scbw/war3 (screw undead ok :p )).

Dota has far more imbalances than SC2 ever had, the diference is it just doesn't matter. We don't have a Bloodseeker player bitching at IceFrog because his hero sucks. You cann't really say that Dota is more balanced, it doesn't affect the game nearly as much.

I would love a drodo courier but 300? Come on.

Balanced is when the interactions are so diverse that it takes so long to figure out what is too strong that by the time you are sure it has already been changed by IceFrog.

thus its is balanced. well in LoL everytjhing is imba aswell but its not balanced at all, so this rule doesnt apply everywhere

i think another reason is, unlike sc2, dota gets major GAME changing patches on a fairly regular basis ( more than once a year) so everyone assumes imbalance wont be around for long. sc2 has MINOR AS FUCK patches that take months to implement.
For instance, Huskar got a MAJOR overhaul, and is imba, but noone really cares cause he isnt in the competitive hero pool, and we all know a change is coming sometime soon.
