Really good from my experiences with it.
I think the main reason it doesn't get a lot of use in esports is because of their increased restrictions and (i believe) lower payout vs twitch, but obviously for an event like the international Valve don't have to worry about anyone other than themselves which makes it pretty perfect. Hope they do use it =)

For individual streamers, once they are contracted with twitch they aren't allowed to use youtube streams in most cases

I'm not sure if that's the case. I watch Northernlion sometimes (a youtube let's player) and he does a stream weekly. He streams on youtube and twitch at the same time, and he's partnered with twitch, has a subscriber button there and everything.

i cant answer your question, but i am amazed how big the impact of the "release" really is, because there was no problem whatsoever to get into the beta the last 6 to 12 month.

yes, you essentially can't explicitly advertise any brand that you don't own on stream or something along those lines
which makes it no problem for TI3 because all Valve are doing is advertising themselves.

That's not explicit advertising though. Nothing they can do about it nor do they actively endorse it - it's just there.

Regardless I think Valve can strike a deal if that becomes a problem, they are big enough for even Youtube to care.

I dont think that will be an issue, they used youtube to stream a some live events here (sports etc..I think youtube were the official stream for the london olympics too) and they had tons of international brand banners all over the place. but overall I liked the youtube streaming experience, so much so that I actually watched the events on youtube over the television.
