I'm really mad about this. I still enjoy watching sc 2 tournaments but TI3 is gonna be exhausting enough so I wont manage to cram in another 48 hours of sc2 Well look at how both tournaments present themselves. Blizzard is just being greedy with the scheduling decision. While Valve on the other hand uses TI3 as a marketing tool for Dota 2 and the teams. Blizzard honestly won't be able to compete with something that is there to advertise Dota 2. Plus TI3 will get more media attention considering how well we did with buying compendiums to raise the prize pool. I still catch SC2 tournaments now and then when there are no Dota tournaments going on. But this year I'm going to be live at TI3 so Blizzard easily loses those people that are fans of both games that happen to be at the event. Blizzard doesnt' ahve another weekend to run it. They can't run to much later into August, since they have 12 weeks to Blizzcon and they still have another season. Proleague finals are on August 1-2. The World of Tanks finals are on the 18-20 and the NASL team runs that event too, which means they can't run NA. There is no room in August for them execpt for the weekend of TI3. It has nothing to do with greed, it has to do with there being no room. It has to do with poor planning. You don't run 3 finals from 3 different timezones on 1 weekend. If they planned this as 3 separate events, then the timing wouldn't be a problem. You can have one event overlap with TI, like the KR one. And it wouldn't even be running at the same time. I don't think it is possible. There are two events the weekend before on August 1-2 and World of Tanks conflicts with the NA production crew. That and LCS is wrapping up that week as well, so their ELS crew will be getting ready for that. There is more going on than just Dota 2 and SC2. A lot of people are running event in August. And you pay people to run your production because? This is all Blizzard's fault. If they had a clue what they were doing, they would have announced these dates a long time ago and then it wouldn't be a problem. The fact that we didn't know these dates until now proves that they waited far too long. On July 23 2013 07:05 Soap wrote: Blizzard isn't going for viewer numbers, that is Twitch problem. Instead they got an entire comunnity, including personalities with tens of thousands of viewers on Twitter, to talk about it who otherwise wouldn't. The world's media will have their attention already turned to gaming, so it's easy to get a footnote where you would have nothing. I think it is a very smart move. This is ridiculous. This is SC2, not shootmania. Totalbiscuit saying Blizzard did something stupid isn't bringing anything good to SC2. It is far too big to gain anything from that kind of publicity. TB is already a staple on the SC2 scene and his channel is mostly about cheap indie games, also his opinion about Blizzard hardly matters about StarCraft, thus his additional PR value is minimal. I meant guys like Tobi or Cyborgmatt. Consider that if every single SC2 owner would tune into the streams, it would give amazing numbers but not a single cent to Blizzard. Reaching towards other genres or mass media is what matters. This is what I was thinking about. It doesn't matter to Blizzard that people who are playing SC2 switching to Dota2, because they already know about SC2 and already pay for it. It's not like those people will bring anymore revenue to Blizzard. On the other hand, if they manage to get a random person to switch from Dota2 to SC2, that's a long term lost for Valve and revenue for Blizzard.

any tips on playing him offlane my jungling is pretty bad NP offlane pretty much relies on your ability to micro your minions to aggro creeps and lead them to ward your tower for last hitting (assuming you're going offlane NP against a farming carry lane of the other team). So basically you have to stay way behind your creep wave to avoid getting jumped on. Also offlane NP doesn't shine in the early game stage as you shouldn't be able to farm much if they other team plays it correctly. Just try to get any last hit/exp as you can, get yourself a quick Midas and your GPM should be much better onward. Once your teleport skill reaches a high enough level (i.e the cooldown is decently low), teleport to any empty lane to farm/push and take down towers if possible (always bring a tp scroll because it enables you to port back to defend with your team without relying too much on the cooldown of your 2nd).
NP is all about split-pushing and occasional teleport&gank with your team.

Is NP played at all in offlane unless it's 100% sure it will be a 1v1 lane? I don't watch that many tournaments, but the few times I've seen NP offlane it was in 1v1 matchups.

A lot of fucking with supports with treants by blocking pulls / pulling etc etc.
He didn't have much farm though.

Mmmmm Greedy Style. Spamming the ult 24/7, denying your carries farm and jumping around the map killing anything you want. (Only in a silly pub)

Damn. That Blizzard announcement almost made me shed a tear. Silly decision.
Edit: If you think about it, the 3 premier esport games right now all originally stemmed from Blizzard. It's quite sad that it has come to this.

"offlane" furion is basically done by summoning treants and blocking spawns and then transitioning into the jungle. it's basically only done when you have someone like Chen who needs to be in the jungle for level 6 at the very least. you then get a recovery midas and start catching up.
